Neeek: TheManofPA: 1) People start to recognize that "Okay, James is the best player in the NBA", let's appreciate his performance
2) The Heat are far better than everyone, we always knew this
3) THE HEAT ARE THE GREATEST TEAM EVER AND WILL WIN EVERYTHING FOR THE NEXT YEARS
4) LEBRON IS ALREADY BETTER THAN JORDAN AND EVERYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE DOESN'T KNOW BASKETBALL AT ALL

3 isn't remotely true. Frankly, 2 isn't either. The Thunder are a better team than the Heat, so are the Spurs. 1 and 4 are true though.

It doesn't have to be true to be on ESPN. It just has to follow the rhetoric. He wasn't saying those things were true. He was saying that this will be our ESPN reality for the next month.

Juwan's turkey-like 85-year-old arms couldn't get the ball anywhere near the hoop.

2012-06-21 11:44:20 PM
Juwan had the jitters on that airball.

robsul82: Gunny Highway: robsul82: Congrats to the real Heat fans. I know there's some out there.

Agreed. Also to Battier and Howard. Must be cool to achieve a life long dream.

A Dookie and a Fab Five member? PASS, lol. I'm sure they love their mamas, though.

They had better call them then.

redmid17: coolio mack: redmid17: TheJoe03: redmid17: James is a bigger, stronger version of Jordan minus the serious personality defects that made Jordan the greatest of all time.

But a worse shooter and defender. Jordan had better skills, LeBron's athleticism doesn't make him better, plus it isn't like Jordan was that far behind in that category.

When all is said and done, I don't think it's far fetched to see James overtaking Jordan at everything. The only thing he's really lagging behind on is titles. He's already better than MJ at a few things.

I hate the comparison between Jordan and LeBron because they were totally different players. Compare Kobe to Jordan, and LeBron to Magic if you must.

Take it to the bank now: James will never retire due to sex-related injuries

Who knows, after this finals win he might go Tiger Woods on his lady. A lot of fine females in the crowd tonight.

Ok you bastards, before all the trolls get here

I DEMAND MY WIZARD POSTS and COLBERT I CALLED IT posts I want full robe and wizard hat because as much as it pains me:

robsul82: LeBron will never be half the baseball player MJ was, that's for damn sure. Suck it, Bron.

This makes 8 rings for Criscohead, I believe.

As a spectator? You're jumping the gun by a few there

Huh? Criscohead is Pat Riley, to be clear.

I'm guessing Pat Riley will retire after this season.

The Heat's end of the bench are really, really shiatty.

2012-06-21 11:46:56 PM
Let me put it like this: If Lebron James realizes how great this championship feels...and then appreciates what it really means...I'll probably stop hating him.

And I use the term "hating" pretty loosely, because I really don't care if he wins or not. It was just fun to watch him lose to my team. But he's beaten the Celtics two years in a row now.

2012-06-21 11:47:09 PM
Hey, the Cavs have about 10 seconds to win a championship before LeBron does. Can they do it?

Can I just say.... before the trolls & bandwagonners get here? I really like most of you guys & this has been fun. Also fark the Heat. I've hated them sine 2006, before LeBron came on. I am a Heat-hater hipster, so there.

Kinda nice this was a blowout so the bench guys could get some playing time in the finals.

Regular season doesn't matter and the early rounds of the playoffs don't matter...I'll have to test each series out like I did this one - show up for Game 1, if they lose, I'm out.

/what a great night except for the refs trying to keep OKC close in the first half and Harden flopping his way to the line because he couldn't buy a bucket
//it's okay, Thunder, y'all are a bunch of young bucks, you'll be there many times in the future

Lebron is getting too old for this shiat

2012-06-21 11:49:29 PM
I've really enjoyed this season, and all the amazing basketball of the playoffs. These guys clearly have a lot of passion for the game and respect for each other.

I guess we can put the "THAT'S THE ONLY ARGUMENT I NEED, SHAWN" statement to bed. Lebron's just put up an amazing series.

2012-06-21 11:49:40 PM

redmid17: Yes. He had 5 championships as a coach and 1 as a player.

So seven, then? Because he'll get one for this one.

Call me a nitpickers, but there is a distinct difference between earning one as as a HC or player and getting one because you're in the front office.

Wait, didn't Riley win a ring as an assistant coach too? 5 as a head coach, 1 as a player, 1 as an assistant coach, and 1 for this one.
