An earlier article stated he was going to be a rebuttal witness if Sandusky testified. My understanding is that, since Sandusky isn't charged with molesting Matt, if he was called as a witness and said he was molested, the judge may have declared a mistrial. As a rebuttal witness, it's different...apparently.

I don't have a GED in Law, so I'm not an expert.

Someone did, and it's pretty clear that Penn State believed there was an issue.

If you look at the circumstantial evidence around the time of the 1998 charges it's pretty clear the administration, athletics department and even Joe Paterno believed there was an issue. When the police notified the administration 2 very interesting things happened. 1) Sandusky was advised he would never be Penn State head coach. 2) Joe Paterno cancelled several meetings and trips and instead was at the University. (These were literally the only trips, appointments and meetings Joe cancelled during the entire year.

The man was literally awarded National Assistant Coach of the Year the same year Penn State let him know he would never be promoted. He then never coached at another college.

All of this could be an amazing coincidence, but that's awful hard to believe.

Wouldn't Paterno have had to leave for sandusky to be promoted?

This whole situation is fubar, he should have been caught back in 98. Joepa did go to campus police, but when they did nothing should have gone to the cops. It's sickening that he was allowed to walk away with it for so long. People also forget there one of the victim's moms figured it out and no one investigated it because she was poor and black.

Which is probably why he's so goddamn cocky at this trial. How many other people knew and did nothing? He's been getting away with molesting kids for what 40 years.

With most child abuse offenses, the clock on the statute of limitations doesn't start until the victim first tells someone else. So if some early victim who's 50 now comes forward, so long as he didn't tell his mom or therapist or something in the intervening decades, Sandusky could be tried for that as well.
