That would be an excellent epilogue to Nolan's Batverse.

Yeah, well, maybe John Blake is really Catman (AKA Thomas Blake).

Or whatever. Just wait and watch the damn movie.

TravisBickle62: In reality there was no Robin, he was a complete work of fiction. Nolan is too much the historian to allow crap like that to intrude into his work.

My take on it is that Levitt's character is sort of a combination of Robin/Nightwing, Azrael, and Terry McGinnis. He's an orphan and batman's protege (Robin) who takes over the mantle of batman when Bane breaks him (Azrael) and continues the batman legacy after wayne retires after proving himself to wayne without wearing the cowl (McGinnis)

Aspects of all three characters but could work better than any one of them alone in a film like this.

Nightwing sounds like the name of an 80s TV dramady.

If there's any truth to any of this, it will just be a nod to Dick Grayson. I really don't think we'll see him appear as Robin or Nightwing. Just like in the movie, it was shown that Gordon had a daughter. It can be assumed that it's Barbara and it's obviously a nod to that character, but you can't exactly say that "Batgirl was featured in the Nolan batverse."

I can see it now. Condiment King is working with Humpty Dumpty (played by Ralphie May) to bring Gotham to it's knees. They kidnap Levitt/Grayson/Nightwing and threaten to have Humpty smother him if Batman doesn't leave town. As Batman is laying low in Bludhaven he enlists the aid of Zur En Arrh to help free his sidekick. A fierce battle ensues at the Gotham meat packing plant and Condiment King is defeated, crushed by hanging cow carcass, just before he can fire his deadly mayonnaise gun at Bats.

Since the "Nolan-verse" isn't the core Bat-mythos, who cares? If you haven't the skill to logically put Robin in, don't bust a vessel either trying to, or explaining why not, just give us a good story about a rich white boy flitting around like nobody's business, beating people up in the dead of night.

I'm not saying that it's possible, but what I am saying is that the costume designer for the film has said that the costume from TDK is the same one they're still using, but with one change at a certain point in the film that he was not allowed to discuss.

Makes you wonder.

2012-06-21 06:16:17 PM
It doesn't make a difference if you read the article 'upside-up' or upside-down. It's still a bunch of half ass speculation that people have been grasping at since Levitt was shown in the film.

He's obviously Aquaman, being introduced so they can make a Justice League movie to counter The Avengers. The symbol is a manta ray, and you notice how water is shown in a lot of the trailers? Not a coincedence. Aquaman. You heard it here first.

First, the author of this "article" is hellbent on defending his speculation and shooting down commenters over on Forbes, which is pretty funny.

Second, I have a sneaking suspicion that we've only seen clips from the first half of the movie in the trailers.

I hope that it involves ice skates that can pop out of the bottom of his boots. Maybe he can tap his feet together real fast to activate them.

No, it hasn't. The toy that people thought was Azrael is really "ninja Bruce Wayne."
