Tonight, on "Duh!"

2012-06-21 03:13:08 PM
It wouldn't be hard to drown the Captain, everybody knows that Blah people can't swim!

2012-06-21 03:17:32 PM
There are a lot of people in the US that would like to dump the whole farking lot of you bastards and start from scratch too.

2012-06-21 03:21:48 PM
You people just don't get it. If Republicans aren't able to a) impose their fundamentalist religious morality on everyone and/or b) sellout the government to any and all corporate interests, then America just isn't worth keeping.

2012-06-21 03:21:55 PM
I don't know why he would think such a thing. It's not like the Republicans haven't been working hard to make America a better place these past four years.

2012-06-21 03:32:15 PM
especially if the captain is near.

I think that wish has become reality in Mississippi -the poorest state in the Union but also Liberal Free -isn't that great!

Median income: $36,850
Poverty rate: 21.3% (the highest)
Without health insurance: 18.7% (8th highest)
Unemployment rate: 10.4% (7th highest)

At least the GOP is pretty honest about their intent to destroy the country. so we've got that going for us. which is nice.

I'm in Thornberry's district. He was one of the Contract with America bunch that promised 12 and out. That was 18 years ago. I haven't voted for him in 6 years. I called him on it at a town hall too.

And for the most part I like the guy.

Wouldn't vote for Neugebauer if my life depended on it.

How'd you guess?

I'm glad to see Hoyer et al finally calling a spade a spade instead of pussyfooting around the obvious damn truth. How many years has it been happening? And only recently has anyone become interested in actually saying so.

It's always struck me as weird that there are a lot of *counties* in Texas that have a significantly lower population than the town where I grew up. And yeah, I grew up in the largest metro area in the country. But still.

I wouldn't but his opponent is so batshiat crazy I have to try and get people out and vote for the incumbent.

Seriously, I have a choice between incumbent Democrat I relatively agree with and responds politely to me even if he doesn't agree with my comments, or a creationist, survival compound Republican that wants to kill damn near every single government agency, as well as incorporate radioactive waste into the foundations of homes as a disposal as well as health improvement measure.

That picture looks more like Detroit than Mississippi. As backwards as Mississippi is, it's a rather nice place to drive through, scenery-wise. Especially if you hit the Natchez-Trace at the right time of year.

Wow. At that point, or even a less extreme point than that, why even bother? How many court cases could you possibly have? Why not consolidate?

And Jones actually has my town beat by about 3,000. Though my county has Jones beat by about 1.28 million.

It's not that bad. I grew up in Houston and actually kind of like the small town thing. I would prefer the one I live in to be a little closer to a city other than Abilene but it's only 2 1/2 - 3 hours to the 'Plex depending on where you're going. Now that the Boys are grown and gone we have a lot more freedom to roam.

It's like a friend of mine, she moved in with her 350 pound mother and started eating cheesecake and lots of fried crap and didn't get it when she gained like 50 pounds over the course of 2010 and a bunch of us who were sick of hearing her cry about it sat her down and said "Look if this matters to you then you gotta stop eating your mom's 100% fried food cooking and get some exercise." Well she did, started exercising, but the weight isn't coming off as fast as it had gone on, especially since her mom keeps hounding her EVERY DAMN DAY to eat a cheesecake, eat a bowl of hamburger helper, eat this food that I worked goddamn hard to put on this table guilt guilt etc.

Well here we are a year later and she's still up like 40 pounds off her starting weight and she's concluded that the "Eat less, eat more vegetables, and exercise" plan isn't working fast enough, so maybe it's time to go back to eating what her mom cooks and look at maybe getting her tummy stapled or something.

If you stay on the interstate and major highways MS is a nice looking state. Step off the normal corridors and it's basically a 3rd world country. However it's been like that forever.. It wasn't like they broke it or could break it as it's been broken since reconstruction. Keeping in mind that a "southern democrat" of the bygone era is now your basic racist redneck Republican the state was owned by Democrats for decades. This is the typical argument thrown around by Republicans but even the handful of Dems in MS are basically Repubs.

To enter rural MS is like entering the world in 1887 except with some cars. If you're from the north or the west and have never been to MS you would be very surprised to know that you're in the United States and not parts of Africa or Haiti.

GIS plus it looks more like photochop than anywhere but the point is the point.

A lack of environmental regulation is closer to the former Soviet Union than anywhere in the United States. -Which again is some point I'm making.

I'd also like to point out China here for lack of environmental regulations. But then again, Mao refused to believe intellectuals. Now how does that sound familiar...

Anyone else notice that was not Steny Hoyer saying that, it was Steny Hoyer quoting Jesse Jackson.

Steny Hoyer. Steny Hoyer. Sounds slutty.

Anyway, Ed Helms in 30 years? Look at his eyes, he has more bags than Louis Vuitton.

So yes, any points he makes are moot.
