Mormon central, so no surprise there. I'm surprised he wasn't fired for not wearing his magic underwear -- oh sorry "temple garments".

He's got troll written all over his face. You know his department loves him.

They are putting him on patrol? Awesome. How many millions in lawsuits is he going to cost the department when he pulls over women?

2012-06-21 01:12:28 PM
of course Provo brought him back, they suck.

Sexually harassing women is the job of the highway patrol.
They won't let him muscle in on their turf.

This guy won't last a month. He'll pull over some young thing for driving too fast and be like "Hey babe, I'm gonna have to give you a Speedo-ticket." And then he'll just whip it out.

I dunno...I"m not sure I'd feel harassed if he pulled me over IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

The problem with this is the original story was full of crap. Their was a video tape of the whole incident. Their was not any sexual harassment, zero complaints except by parents that were not present. He was also wearing sweat pants with the speedo over the top.... Also, the department did not want to hire him back, The review board was entirely made up of civilians which determined he should not have been fired.

That said, he should be reprimanded but being fired for it is a bit much.

/ yea i know reality isn't as much fun...
// welcome to fark.

"Provo police said in an email that the department still backs its initial decision to fire Harris, but it will honor the commission's decision.

Harris was dismissed after Provo police said he removed his pants to show off the Speedo-style suit and made inappropriate gestures and comments while a group of female students were nearby.

Harris will receive training to work alternating night-day shifts walking a beat that weaves through mobile home parks, state assisted housing, and the hobo encampment off Route 37. He's also been promoted to Elderly Wellness Check Duty Officer, which requires him to visit our local Senior Citizens on his days off to make sure they're in good health and remember a wonderful story to tell him about a dog they saw fifty-eight years ago. Due to budget shortfalls, Officer Harris will have to ride a seatless bike with two popped tires and no handlebars covered in syringes. If you see Officer Harris in the halls picking up trash, please take a moment to stop and welcome him back."

What the real historical David looked like with his sling-shot. Micheangelo's David is just a gay wet dream.

Forever pretty in blue jeans if you have that magnet set they sell in museum gift shops.

The thought of David in Blue Jeans naturally led to the thought--question really--of Mona Lisa in a Burqah.

Great artists think alike (or steal shamelessly as cartoonists):

This one is more subtle and stylized but makes a sharper, more spartan statement. I'm sure they were probably arrived at independantly, as the idea is, so to speak, "in the air" as far as modern art is concerned.

Harris will receive training to work in the patrol division.

Patrol? Since the incident involved a Speedo, I think traffic would be more appropriate.

2012-06-21 03:03:05 PM
This is absolutely hilarious. If this had been a "citizen" they would have lost their job, been arrested and have to go to classes for sexual harassment, heck, they might even have to register as a sex offender since he did perform offensive gestures in front of high school kids.

I also found it amusing that he told the people involved to delete pictures and videos they made of him during this, he knew what he did was in bad taste and against department policy

Oh well, It is sad that police expect everyone but themselves to follow the rules

I always wonderd what it would take if brutality/false arrest/douchbaggery won't get a cop fired.

I see now, I was upset by all the wrong things.

Holy hell. The link to the letter of termination was incredible. I cannot believe they didn't arrest him on the spot. Repeated sexual harassment towards school administration, staff, students, the whole gamut. This is incredible. WTF is the commission thinking? This guy is a sexual predator..

Good work as usual. Second to last sentence is a bit over-the-top, but otherwise it's almost believable.

In all seriousness, it's probably not too far off from the reality that awaits him. He's going to get all the shiat duties and will get written up for every trivial infraction.

Even police departments can't fire their officers. Outside of murdering another officer, appears there's a near-zero chance of police officers losing their jobs, and even less of being prosecuted. No wonder so many HS grads and GED holders want to be one.
