For the charge of being Karl Rove. Isn't that enough?

I think the botox has gone to her brain.

Good to know that Tucker Carlson is hard at work on the issues that matter most to hard working Americans.

Didn't she just endorse Charlie Rangel for his 22nd term?

/sweep the rug clean of corruption, Nancy

Marcus Aurelius: Good to know that Tucker Carlson is hard at work on the issues that matter most to hard working Americans.

Good, God-Fearing Americans care about what the minority leader in the House does more than the Majority leader, and they want to be able to interrupt the President at will!

Duh.

Why not for his role in exposing Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA agent.

Pretty much the textbook definition of "not helping"

Witchcraft.

Karl Rove is clearly a fetus using dark magic to appear older.

Well then shiat or get off the pot.

"On what charges?"

I thought we didn't need to charge people? Jose Padilla wasn't charged for over 3 years.

FTFA: "Oh, any number" of charges could have been brought against Rove, Pelosi said. "But there were some specific ones for his being in contempt of Congress."

Good for leaving that part out Submitter.

I'm confused. Are you saying that subby misrepresented Pelosi's quote in order to either appease or inflame people of particular political ideologies? But...but...why?

Anyways, now that we're all on the same page, let's all make fun of BillCo's shoes. :P

You want charges? I can get you charges, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't want to know about it, believe me. I can get you charges by three o'clock this afternoon - with multiple counts. farking amateurs.

Pelosi wants to talk about jobs and how the GOP-controlled House has done absolutely ZERO to help the economy but is instead being incredibly divisive by bringing up issues like this. The truth is the House has no interest to help the economy, because of the elections. Pelosi's message has been consistent but has been continually drowned out by the Loud Noises Division of the GOP.

I agree that the ATF totally F'd up here, they were trying to figure out where the guns were going but basically lied when asked about gunwalking. BUT - I see her point.

The GOP is a much bigger disaster than Fast and Furious.

But just to reiterate what Nancy Pelosi has been saying the past two years, and what Congress should be working on:

JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS

2012-06-21 11:30:28 AM
So why the hell didn't you do it, Nancy? You have failed me for the last time.

2012-06-21 11:33:23 AM
Coulda woulda shoulda. Nancy was all about letting the base go on with impeachment and war-crimes whargarbl until the Democrats grabbed the reins of power. And then? Apparently the war crimes weren't war crimes any more or something.

She did a great job making Newt Gingrich look like a paragon of integrity. When he and the Republicans wanted to impeach Clinton they went ahead and did it. You can argue with their reasoning and conclusions, but having reached the conclusion they did, the GOP didn't say "we think these are impeachable offenses BUT, well, Bubba's got a 60-percent approval rating and my guys on the Appropriations committee do like their defense pork..." They went ahead with it, lost the vote, and took their lumps in the '98 elections. Which is the way it's supposed to work.

Eh. The one time I was arrested the cop just made up the charges. A judge sorts all that out.

This. Do we really have to be this trolltastic with a Daily Caller headline?

2012-06-21 11:56:45 AM
Wow, it's as if compromising with Republicans got you nothing. And, aside from every other time that's happened, who would have thought it would have happened again? But next time, Charlie Brown, she'll hold the football for you. Honest.

2012-06-21 11:57:47 AM
The real point to make is Obama and his justice department could have opened an investigation into Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzalez and their use of torture. Talk about your trump cards, I wanna see Obama troll the GOP by starting that shiat.

Came here to point out that his brazen and repeated refusal to show up when subpoenaed by Congress would be the obvious one, good to see Nancy did it for me.

Revealing the identity of a CIA agent is TREASON.

I have long suspected that that's exactly what she did.

Oh wait, the" liberal" media called out for specifics after someone makes a general statement? Where are these guys when someone mentions "Obama's regulations" that are strangling job creation?

And yes, I would also love to see a detailed specific list of things that could get Rove arrested in relation to contempt of court.

2012-06-21 12:01:37 PM
Treason? I don't know about you, but that's a big one in my book.

No, just can't have a Fark thread against liberals without lying.

Since it is the 30th anniversary of Watergate and all - a young Karl Rove worked on Nixon's re-election campaign in 1972.

So Pelosi is aiding and abetting a criminal?

Lock em both up.

snowshovel: And yes, I would also love to see a detailed specific list of things that could get Rove arrested in relation to contempt of court.

Contempt of congress itself is the charge. Technically congress can have someone who has been held in contempt arrested. They are subject to due process of course. They are tried by congress and can potentially be jailed if convicted.

With a quick googling I can only find one instance of it ever happening, apparently a lawyer who let his clients destroy documents congress had subpoenaed was arrested, tried, found guilty and given 10 days in prison.

2012-06-21 12:09:11 PM
is the tag for subby?

2012-06-21 12:09:16 PM

snowshovel: And yes, I would also love to see a detailed specific list of things that could get Rove arrested in relation to contempt of court.

Contempt of Congress, not court. They subpoenaed him and he didn't show up. On July 30, 2008, the Judiciary Committee recommended that he be held in contempt of Congress. Nancy Pelosi did not push that recommendation forward.

Saying she could have done it "any day" is a bit of a reach, but Nancy Pelosi definitely had it within her power to have him arrested.

2012-06-21 12:10:33 PM
Nancy, congress couldnt get Roger "Roid Rage" Clemens convicted for lying to Congress. What hope would you have against Karl Rove?

2012-06-21 12:13:25 PM
On what charges? Really, it's Karl Rove. We all know he's guilty as fark regarding almost every election and campaign finance law. They don't go after him because he has the financial backing to get nothing more than a little bit of bad press and cost the taxpayers millions in prosecution.

2012-06-21 12:13:40 PM
She could have charged him with being a Turd Blossom in public. Or public indecency, whatever fits.

There is a contempt of congress charge against Rove kicking around the court system going precisely nowhere. It's been that way for years.

You'd think after 200 years they'd figure out you can't actually murder a dead Iraqi.

It's unclear if Pelosi is aware Rove did not serve in a Bush administration position that's identical to Holder's in the Obama administration. Rove was a senior policy adviser - a position that's more similar to Valerie Jarrett's or David Axelrod's on President Barack Obama's team. Holder is the attorney general, the top law enforcement official in the United States. Pelosi spokesman Nadeam Elshami wouldn't answer when The Daily Caller asked if Pelosi was aware of the distinction.

Good for leaving that part out, Commenter.

Sure you can.

'Murikans have the technology to kill 'em twice, to be safe, and then bury 'em face down just in case they still ain't dead and try to dig their way out.

Never can be too sure with a Eh-Rab.
