OH OH OH, I KNOW. Let's also make them get a facial tattoo that says they're a sex offender. And have them wear a shoulder patch. And they're required to yell out loud they've a sex offender every time they enter a building. And make them have their cars painted a certain way so we can spot them driving. And require them to start any conversation with anyone at all times that they're a sex offender.

I find it intetesting that a special set of social restrictions is set up for what is statistically a small percentage of the criminal population, while the larger portion is... tolerated?

I mean, I guess it doesn't matter your daughter dates a spouse abuser. Black eyes heal, right? And she should be able to see the signs beforehand, right? If not, then I guess she better learn to watch her mouth.

There is a small issue with this idea. There are some people who are on the sex offender list that were put there for dating a 16 or 17 year old when they were 18. Basically high schoolers normal lives are interrupted.

This usually happens cause the parents of the younger kid does not like the other and when they know said kid is 18, calls the cops and he is arrested.

Wasn't there some story on Fark last year about a bunch of high-school students playing tag and the bunch of them were put on the sex-offenders registry?

Sounds like there's a market for a facebook app that automatically compares your friends list against the sex offender registries... Time to make some money.
