"several animals drowned." Pretty sad shiat. It wasn't the greatest of Zoos, but the animals definitely didn't deserve to go out like that. It was the common barnyard animals that croaked and not rare micronesian marsupials, though that doesn't make it much better. I swear half the roads in Duluth proper feel like greater than 45° inclines, so even a wee bit of water washes quickly from the top into a torrent to the bottom.

On a side note, hopefully the flood hasn't farked up all of the road construction they've been dragging their feet with over the last few years. Highway 35 was just starting to get manageable again.

What do I mean by who am I?

Calm down, get a grip now ... oh! this is an interesting sensation, what is it? ... Think if a Seal rolled into a strip club they'd still hit him with a cover charge? Cause if I was working the door, I'd just let him in.

America has turrible drainage systems. Taxes aren't fun to pay but at least you'd have actual decent roads, drainage, infrastructure

ontariolightning: America has turrible drainage systems. Taxes aren't fun to pay but at least you'd have actual decent roads, drainage, infrastructure

West Duluth, where it seems that most of the major road damage is being pictured, tend to be in a higher state of disrepair than the University areas and East Duluth. If you're a professional that works downtown, in the health centers or at the University, you're gonna live in East Duluth, and, as such, as of late, West Duluth's roads and infrastructure tends to be of lower quality (Duluth itself is ~68 square miles not counting the adjoining towns and runs roughly SW to NE in a rather narrow, long strip). In the same MPR link I posed, you can see a picture of a woman with an umbrella standing in the middle of the street near a metal footbridge overpass. That is in east Duluth, and you can see, the road infrastructure is much more robust.
