TravisBickle62: If he's not careful he's going to give himself a migraine

That's attributed to overworking of that little brain of his. He thinks way too much of himself.

So, in order to make himself seem more desirable to prospective employers he reveals himself to be a spoiled, petulent, infantile headcase? Good marketing strategy there, d-bag. enjoy being pelted with trash at all your home games next year.

Does this genius realize that no matter what team he's with that he'll have to, you know, at some point, play in the cold?

The Bills might not suck this year.

They've had one of the strongest offseasons in the league, and significantly rebuilt their defense.

Much of the media is picking them to finish second in the division and in contention for a wildcard.

This is not the article I wanted to read this morning. As a life long Vikes fan it makes me want to get all stabby. They are basically tailoring the offense to his style of play and he wants out!? There is no hope for the Vikings...

Trade him to the Jets

2012-06-20 10:54:51 AM
Subby, way to TROLL HOMEY!!

As a Packer fan, I hate the Vikings and wish that Harvin really had said that as it is pretty accurate.

//not cold in SE Wisconsin right now, will be in December :(.

Second above Miami and Team Dysfunction isn't really "contention." It's first place in the Special Olympics.

\Sorry, but anyone who thinks adding a qb controversy to the already farked up Jets was a good idea will be severely disappointed....
\\and besides, this is Ralph Wilson's team. He'll find a way to fark it up.

Yeah, but they're only potentially good while the other teams have actually proven that they're good. They were also the easiest cold-weather team to think of that has sucked a lot recently (besides Minnesota).

/oh wait, Cleveland. How the hell did I miss a Cleveland jab? Okay, trade him to the Browns.

As a Vikes fan i'm not thrilled, but honestly i'd give up Harvin if we could get a legit #1 receiver (which I wish they would have addressed during the off-season). Percy is a nice weapon, but not a substitute for a nice big target for Ponder.

/what a headache

Send him to Seattle. He's already played for OC Darrell Bevell, opposite Sidney Rice. There's already a bit of a logjam at WR but I assume they could make Golden Tate part of the package back to Minnesota (not as a centerpiece, but as a useful part). Seattle leads the NFL in player-for-player trades since GM John Schneider arrived and they have the cap room to extend Tate. Make it happen.

Given that the Packers have a great team, the Bears are all in to win, and the Lions have been steadily improving, what are the Vikings so worried about? It's not like they'll get anywhere near the playoffs anyway.

No stars (other than, maybe, a healthy Rice), but at least eight players who appear to belong on an NFL roster: Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin, Mike Williams, Golden Tate, Ricardo Lockette, Ben Obomanu, Kris Durham and Deion Butler. At least two of them are likely to become someone else's nice waiver-wire pickups at the end of camp, and if Harvin is added then three would have to go. I'm not saying it's an abundance of stars, but there are clearly more qualified players than roster spots, and Harvin would exacerbate that. (Also, undrafted rookies Phil Bates and Lavasier Tuinei are reportedly making things even more interesting.)

Yes, he has, but nobody ever believes it with the Redskins, because everybody knows the drill with Snyder: Sign over-the-hill veterans to absurd guaranteed money, and watch them fold like lawn chairs the moment the season starts.

The AFC East ones somehow manage to get people in the press to believe it. Granted, some of that is due to it being a rotation of three teams.

Hey Percy, if you think another team will overpay you to play less then 60% of all offensive snaps, then more power to you and I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

You are a hell of a gadget player son. You're a great kick returner. You're a spark plug. You are also not a #1 receiver on a playoff caliber team.

I guess my view is warped because I grew up in the DC area with local radio. Any local radio is delusional for a sports team, as it gets listeners. But I don't remember anyone on the national scale saying the Dolphins or Bills would dethrone the Patriots (yes, there was some clamoring for the Jets the past two offseasons).

One of these days it will be true.

I'm old enough to remember when the Bills and Dolphins were the class of the AFC, and the Patriots stunk out loud. That was actually true for a long time.

Eventually that wheel will turn back around.

They should trade him now for a #1 draft pick while his value is still high. Great player. Wish he didn't have so many medical problems that keep him from playing though.

I don't necessarily mean there was an expectation of taking the division from the Pats, just that there was lots of talk about "big moves" that would make them competitors. There was a fair amount of it the year Miami added Dansby and Marshall, as well as 2009 when Pennington was coming off the 2008 playoff run. Same with the Jets the last two years.

It hasn't been quite as stupid with Buffalo. But, while they've made some good moves (no doubt their DL should be solid), I still think their secondary sucks, and their offense is still atrocious.

It wouldn't shock me to see Buffalo finish second behind NE (due to the always-high probability of Miami and New York dysfunction on and off the field), but I'd be equally unshocked if they finished last again.

As a Bills fan, I will agree with your assessment of the secondary, but disagree with the assessment of the offense. It's not great (Fitz's inconsistent play will hold them back), but it's far from "atrocious". They have a potential two-headed monster at RB with The Underrated Fred Jackson & C.J. Spiller. Stevie Johnson is blossoming as a solid #1 (he can be really, really good if he improves on the occasional drop and ditches the stupid TD celebrations). They desperately need a #2 WR, but their offensive line finally started gelling, and they remembered that tight ends can actually catch passes last year.

Their offense was actually pretty good before they lost starting RB Fred Jackson for the season and Ryan Fitzpatrick cracked some ribs against Washington and played injured the rest of the season. They were averaging 30.1 points/game through Week 8 when Fitzpatrick got hurt (and only 17.9 points/game for the rest of the season).

If their starting offense can stay relatively healthy this season (granted, that's a big IF), I wouldn't say their offense is atrocious.

The NFC North needs at least one team to be comically inept at all times, and whichever team is taking their turn in the barrel gets ruthlessly mocked by everyone else. It's kind of novel to have someone other than DET to kick around, so maybe there's a little more interest than usual.

Here in Minnesota it's not so cut and dry.

So there are 2 major stations. One is an ESPN run station on AM and works exactly like you think. One or two random contributors might suggest the Vikes have a shot at 5-11 at best and the rest of them are talking .500

Now the other one is a Clear Channel station on the FM called KFAN.

Morning show 5:30 am to 9:00 AM: Hosted by former Viking and a few other schlubs. They generally have the "Well, we COULD win and heres how it might happen" attitude.

9a to 12p: Hosted by the guy who does the play-by-play for the Vikings. Full on drinking of the koolaid there.

12p - 6:30p: 2 different guys who are either Lion or Bears fans respectively. They spend as much time questioning the Vikes as they do praising them.

I like this station since I am a cynical fan.

No way. Despite his talents, he has injury concerns and is a headcase. Mid-round is all they can really expect as a result.
