As I've said many times before, I don't hate Miami. And I get the feeling that both of these teams will have their shots against each other in many Finals to come, so I wouldn't blow my entire load on this one.

FreakinB: As I've said many times before, I don't hate Miami.

When they are hyped as "Lebron & Co.," it's hard not to. And even if he does finally get a ring, it has to be noted that getting a ring didn't change people's opinions of the personalities of A-Rod and Peyton, especially after each failed to repeat the feat soon after.

\pretty sure eliminating your team two straight years by striking out in the last at-bat has nullified the ring anyways, in A-Rod's case
\\it's much harder to hate OKC for what Stern and the guy who sold them did to Seattle than it is to not hate Lebron for everything he's done and not done

Sure it is, provided you're stupid and you take all your talking points from ESPN.

/not that I have a problem with OKC in general

People need to grow up and stop giving Lebron James so much grief. Who gives a flying f$%& about how he made his decision to leave. He is an athlete, nothing more, nothing less. Either you respect his talent or you don't. I think he is a beast on the court, and have made it a point to watch when I can lately even though I don't even like basketball.

As I said already: Grow up and shut up. Noone cares that you hate Lebron James just because he left Cleveland and threw a big party. I am pretty sure most people would throw a big party if they could leave Cleveland.

I want LeBron to win a title. I enjoy the NBA storylines and as long as he doesn't have a ring, that dominates the headlines. I'd rather see more diverse stories.

/It's like Tiger not winning majors. There are more stories in golf, but they won't print them.

Exactly. I will *always* root for the Zombie Sonics to lose. I feel a little bad for the fans there, but that's just how it goes.

Yeah. The Heat are playing great defense and their bench is stepping up and hitting shots when the Thunder's isn't. Props to the Heat, they are probably going to win the series. We'll hopefully have another chance at them next year.

This. Not a Sonics fan, but I was living in Seattle when that happened. "LeBron was stupid, Bennett was evil" is a good summary. Still, LeBron stupidly raised two million dollars for charity.

But hey, Seattle has two other franchises that aren't winning anything ever, so it's not like Seattle should feel too bad about it.

/agree that the Thunder are doing what the Heat did last year, making mistakes and relying on isos when the going gets tough. It happens. They'll learn from it and get better.

I don't care why he beats his future wife just as long as he does.

/CSB,I was in a quiet-ish Boston bar and a Knicks / Bulls game was on. A man at the bar with his wife or girlfriend screamed at the TV the whole time, since his money was quite obviously on the struggling Knicks. And the woman he was with had obviously been the subject of his aggression quite often. As the game goes on he gets louder and louder and demonstrates his frustration and the rest of the bar gets quieter and quieter and the bar tender keeps two-hand motioning to him to calm down.
At the very end,the Knicks lose, he loses his money, screams and goes to the bathroom, and slams the door open. The door closes behind him and the woman stands up on her stool and throws her hands in the air and gave a giant Rick Flair style "Whooo!"
Everyone else in the bar erupted in applause.
That woman's probably dead by now, but she had her one shining moment and I was happy to be a part of it.
Anyways, you think this is what this kid is going to turn into?

Really? Nash is a way better fit in Miami. He can save what legs he has left sharing time with Chalmers at the point, but would improve their overall efficiency on offense to a scary dimension.

I think Nash getting considerable playing time in OKC hurts them defensively more than he would help them offensively, since I would imagine that means Westbrook would move over to the shooting guard spot in stretches and have to exert more energy on the defensive end. Unless you're thinking Nash is strictly a "backup PG" on that team and only gets backup PG minutes.

It is funny how people know nothing about OKC.

OKC isn't even supposed to be the capital of Oklahoma, we stole it from Guthrie fair and square.

Don't blame us that you lost the sonics, blame yourself or God. :)

Oh, the only reason I'd say that he'd go to OKC is that a) yes, I'm putting him in at backup PG, and b) if he goes to Miami, it's ring-chasing. If he goes to OKC, he's the guy who "put them over the top."

I like him more in Miami, too. But the Thunder probably win this series with him taking Fisher's minutes. Fisher isn't a great defender, either, and he brings nothing to the table on offense.

If people started an N-Y-C chant at any sporting event here...I'm not even sure what I would do. But it wouldn't be good. Though having multiple teams in the same sport makes the idea extra ridiculous.

I think it's pretty harsh to judge someone when they're SIX. When I was a kid following the Mariners in the 80s they had be bawling on my bed many a time. Bear in mind a hometown sports team is about as ethereal to the mind of a kid as Santa Claus. I'm all grown up now; I'll still quietly pump my fist when they win and grumble to myself when they lose, but overall I've learned not to care as much.

Then again, I'm here on Fark, so maybe that tells you what the ceiling is for kids who take pro sports too seriously.
