Why didn't they show the whole thing? Because it turns out audiences don't like being bored to death.

The added context doesn't really alter anything. And then they went and aired the whole thing anyway.

If they're trying to bias, they're doing a shiatty job.

Aldon: Romney Romney Romney Romney Romney...

It pays to read the whole thread. I've already said I don't support Romney; I don't think he'll be any different from Obama or Bush. I support Ron Paul, although he's not perfect, and I'm really not concerned with what a load of whiny collectivists OR warmongering Jeezo-grovellers think about that. If a person can be reasonable, that's one thing. However, everything I posted was true. And, as expected, you merely responded with "but Romney! But Bush! But Reagan!! WAAAAAAAA!" This puts you in the intellectually disingenuous pile, and not worthy of a response beyond

"Dear Partisan Tool,

As you haven't demonstrated enough honesty or intelligence to warrant the investment of time and energy required for an actual conversation on the topics in question, said conversation will not be occuring. Good luck screaming in your echo chamber, and have a great day.

Hugs & kisses,

SFY"

I'm done arguing with the brainwashed. Keep on cheering for your favorite political wrestler on DC Smackdown. I'm trying to figure out if there's still any way to keep the oligarchs from plunging Western Civ back in to feudalism.

SouthernFriedYankee: intelligent comment below: SouthernFriedYankee: And this is why you will never have credibility outside the echo chamber of your partisanship.

I can't resist:

• Expanded the power & scope of the Patriot Act without batting an eyelash. - Romney has not opposed this or promised to back out any of this. In fact he says Obama is to soft in this area.
• Failed to close Gitmo after promising to do so immediately. - He tried but congress cut off the funds... Romney is going to keep Gitmo open as well.
• AIPAC - 'nuff said. - Romney says he will do what Israel tells him to do in the region, and is fell over himself saying Obama is not a friend to Isreal, but he is.
• Allowed the banksters to sell hundreds of billions of dollars of worthless CDO paper to the taxpayers at 100 cents on the dollar. - Romney agreed with the bank and wallstreet ballouts at the time.
• Promised unprecidented transparency, and then - take your pick: healthcare bill Chicago style, exec privilege for Holder just now, etc. - He is more transparent than any president of my lifetime and Romney hasn't indicated he would be anymore transparent so I'm not sure of your issue here. He's a terrible president because he didn't do everything the way I think he should have?
• Filled the executive branch with bankster cronies and lobbyists, after promising to do just the opposite. - You think Romney is not going to put any of his banker buddies in? At least Obama tried to unite by picking a lot of Republicans.
• TRUE unemployment rate close to 20% - I don't know what this means, what was Reagan's 'TRUE' unemployment rate? This is one of those things Republicans pull out when a Democrat is in office and forget when a Republican is in office.
• Undid most of Clinton's welfare reforms soon after taking office. - BS, what is Romney going to do about it then? If he hasn't said it is because it is BS.
• Sent the military into paces like Libya after decrying BushCo's unilateral, not Congressional approved use of force. - More BS, Obama decried Bush's unilateral action in regards to our allies and the UN... He did exactly what he said he would do in Libya gathered our allies support, we were part of a real coalition, and see how well it turned out compared to Bushes failed military actions?
• Blames all his mistakes and mis-steps on BushCo. - that's your opinion, that you will forget when there is a Republican president blaming the previous admin.
• Hasn't required Holder & the DOJ to actually prosecute any of the banksters who've been submitted to them by the SEC and Congress for clear fraud, embezzlement, deceit and general douchebaggery. - You know what I agree with you, but since the republican congress has been blocking any meaningful reform and not allowing the dodd-frank bill to even be worked on, what do you think you would have gotten with a Republican president like a Romney? You think Romney would go forward to prosecute any of his banking pals? He even has said Obama is choking them with regulations, so they will have even better opportunities to screw the taxpayer if Romney gains the office. If you hate Obama on this you must really loath Romney on this.

So let me guess, you are going to vote for Romney even though is is obvious he would be worse or in the very least not any better than Obama on the things you consider to be his worse disasters.

/good luck with that.

Is there a more "out of touch with the common man" sport than Dressage?

MSNBC is a clone of Fox News.

Both are 10% news, 40% opinion, and the remaining 50% is a yammerfest designed to hide the fact that they seldom report news.

TDWCom29: Edsel: Good, so we're all agreed that we're going to crack down on out-of-context quotes this election season? Awesome.

Only when it's an out-of-context conservative quote.

Also, I love how MSNBC is just as bad as Fox News even though they employ Joe Scarborough, and for the longest time employed Pat freaking Buchanan.

Sure, just like Fox employed Alan Colmes. The strategy is to find some ridiculous idiot with the opposing viewpoint to provide an illusion of being 'Fair and Balanced,' while still making the entire opposing viewpoint look stupid.

But MSNBC is no competition for Fox, even though they are trying their best to keep up in the race to the journalistic bottom. MSNBC has yet to shamelessly embrace their role as liberal propagandists the way Fox has embraced their role as conservative propagandists. They still seem to be holding back a little. Maybe it's because their management feels a twinge of guilt for taking the low road. Maybe it's because their audience isn't responding as well as Fox's audience.

But I think it's really just that MSNBC writers are not as good at interpreting current events through a rigid dogmatic ideology, which is what good propaganda requires. Fox succeeds because their audience loves to see the complex, messy real world, cleaned up and interpreted in a cohesive way that makes sense, even if they have to ignore some inconvenient facts to get there. Fox lets them pay attention to what they want to pay attention to.

It's like church. "All of us in the reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1915, believes the same, so we must be right. Right? Right. Unlike those idiots in the reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1879. Heathen scum."

Ned Stark: "It pretty much is a sports match."

One doesn't define reality or proper social behavior based on the least common denominator of loudmouths and assholes.

Regardless of whether the internet is stuffed to the gills with team-before-reality rubes, shills and trolls:
One is not automatically pro-democrat because they criticize or disagree with conservatives, conservative policy or a conservative-serving press item.
One is not automatically pro-republican because they criticize or disagree with liberals, liberal policy or a liberal-serving press item.

Making or accepting such faulty assumptions doesn't identify you as having some great understanding of the conversation.
It identifies you as one of the rubes, shills or trolls.
