A white man saying that racism isn't a problem. Wow.

2012-06-19 07:48:58 AM
The only real victims in this country are the oppressed Christians who have been unfairly prevented from telling the rest of us how to live our lives, and the oppressed rich white guys who have had to suffer and barely scrape by to support the rest of us freeloaders.

I find it impossible to conclude anything except this is totally serious because it isn't possible to intentionally be retarded enough to write that. The only way you could actually write that is if you were so farking brain dead that you vote straight ticket Republican.

Today there are "professional victims" because without victims, there is no liberalism. Liberalism is a kind of never-ending crusade for (or against) something. Anything. If every request of the liberal nation's agenda was granted, they would find something else to protest or agitate for or against. Because at their core, liberals are very unhappy people who need a cause to make their lives worth something. For libs, the glass will ALWAYS!!! be half full.

i lied, i clicked for the comments, i'm truly ashamed that i share a national identity with these people:

Let's add another "group" to the list . . .
Jews.
They have been professional "victims" throughout history, seeking adversaries under every rock, using the "holocaust" to reinforce their "victimhood". If Jews did not have real enemies, they would fabricate them . . .
Their cries of "anti-semitism" (when any of their actions or policies is brought into question) parallels that of blacks crying "racism" at any (mis)perceived slight.
Let the rants of "anti-semitism" begin . . .

I'm not clicking. Instead I will choose to believe his list is:

1. CEOs
2. Christians
3. Stay-at-home Moms
4. Hedge fund managers/venture capitalists
5. Conservative college professors
6. Townhall board commenters
7. People who still can't believe they saw a Negro at the mall eating a sandwich like he owned the place!

In fairness, this is part of the issue that folks of a certain Conservative bent seem to have issue with.

The idea that things need to change; at their ideological heart, these are folks who take offense that folks are asking that action be taken. In their perfect world, then nothing changes. Nothing challenges the status quo. They take their "Conservatism" as totem against change. It becomes an article of faith, that things in the past were always better, and much like recovering alcoholics, they assume that they are powerless to affect real and lasting change, and any attempts to do so will gyre wildly out of the perfect balance that was.

In a perfect world, there is only homeostasis. No addition, no subtraction, just currents flowing endlessly towards the sea. At least, that is the assumption. It makes the past a sort of fetish.

The problem is, we don't live in a perfect world. We have flux and change thrown at us constantly. That is too much for some folks, and thus, when changes keep happening, they get scared. They retreat into their cave of fetishized "Conservatism" and even try to redact changes that have happened around them, because the real world is far too scary to deal with. And agents of that change, agents of anything different, they become the enemy. They transform and become totem as well. They become symbols for that. Libs, Progressives, even realists, they become the enemy, because they exist outside that cave of preconceptions, and that cave is made up of a LOT of notions that aren't necessarily based in fact. The "Good Old Days" were only good for some, and reminding folks of that, that messes with that belief system.

It's not about Conservative or Liberal or even pessimists and optimists, but rather realists and those mired in absolutism. Realists deal with the problems that arise when conditions change. In economics. In domestic relations. In foreign relations. In the job. With friends. Dealing with what is, and address issues as they arise. Others, prefer to deal with the idealized absolutism of reality. Britain and France have always been our friends. Russia is always the enemy. Taxes must always be cut. Unions are always in the wrong. Rather than adjust the sail when the winds change, they insist that they've always kept their sail at this hitch, and thus they always will keep it at this hitch, and they WILL get home. Even if traveling from an entirely different direction, and then getting angrier and angrier the more and more off course they become.

Thus the wind is at fault. The sail is at fault. The folks pointing out that you need to adjust the sail are very much the enemy, because in their ideological absolutism is challenged.

This isn't a Right and Left sort of thing. When you fetishize a position, and refuse to see that conditions are changing, then you fall into this trap. Be that men are always the enemy, corporations are always evil, Communism and Unions are going to eat our souls and destroy the nation, that women are always in the wrong, that women are always in the right. When you fetishize ideology and refuse to see conditions around you, and adjust to take into account the real conditions and problems, then the entire lay of the land becomes skewed. Which is becoming more and more the lay of the land today, with folks who fetishize their ideology and making that the captain of their policy decisions, as opposed to simply looking around at the conditions and adjusting to deal with what is, as opposed to just what they believe...

It's interesting that "1) 99% of the "victims" of "racism":" is the first one on the list.

The people I hear complaining about racism the most are white folks complaining that minorities are racist against whites (or affirmative action is racist against whites, or whatever).

2) Barack Obama:
3) Aggressive atheists:
4) Journalists:
5) Women who don't get free contraception:
6) Students loaded down with debt:
7) Liberal feminists:

Oh, how dare these Christians put up a Christmas display at a school in front of the townhall!

You're goddamn right.

It's outrageous that they mention "Under God" in the pledge!

It certainly is.

Who do they think they are encouraging schools to sing songs about Christ at Christmas?

Who, indeed. I agree, Townhall.

Does it terrify them that they're going to hear some little kids singing "Away in a Manger"

Very much so, yes.

Wow, I agree with Townhall for once.

Is there some sort of blogger certification that I'm not aware of? Where do you get your professional blogger credentials from?

I think this is my favorite WTF comment from TFA:

What we need to emphasize is the High School diploma. Many companies require a degree because they need someone with basic literacy skills. Public School has been a complete failure. This is where citizens can take back America

Followed up by this gem in a close second:

Hurry up Congress get a warrant for the PRETENDER's Arrest as a TRAITOR and for ESPIONAGE.

Liberalism creates victims to expand government. Government is expanded to control people through dependence. Once government controls people, it can make them do whatever it wants.
For example, victims can be people who don't have health care. Solution: government provides health care. Make people depend on government for health care. Once citizens depend on government for health care, they can make people do whatever they want. For example, arbitrary bans on certain foods like sugary soda, but not milkshakes or frappucinos; decided based on politics, nepotism and favoritism. The goal isn't to provide health care to everyone. It is to exert unlimited control over the lives of everyone. Ideally, eventually less health care is provided to less people as it is expensive and doctors and Big Pharma make too much money.

FTFA: Barack Obama: Barack Hussein Obama is not a victim; he's a former dopehead who was never even remotely qualified to be President in the first place. Oh, but he's having a tough time because of racism? Please. Barack Obama was elected in the first place because he is black. A white man with his non-existent record of accomplishment wouldn't have even been considered a serious candidate for the presidency. Now, every time someone criticizes Obama, it's supposed to be racism.

He has just defined the average Fark liberal. Any thread that is in any way critical of Obama is required to have some idiot posting "WE GET IT, HE'S BLACK".

My favorite line is "only a prostitute would go through so much birth control that they couldn't afford to pay for it." I'm not sure the guy understand how birth control works. You don't take a pill every time you have sex. His lack of basic sexual knowledge might explain why he's so mad.
