Rooney's hair is still a bigger A-hole than Downing

midpoint: I can't remember the last time Gerrard had a good game for England.

Stevie has created more chances, and assisted more goals than any other England player.

it looks like the swedish are serious about finding another.

Getting out of and likely winning the group will the English highlight of the tournament. They face Italy or Spain in the quarters. Either of those two sides should handle England. England is fortunate not to be losing this fixture against Ukraine.

But the number of ten yard passes he misplaces is remarkable.

He was offside anyway, regardless...and the linesman should have caught it.

They have an extra referee assistant at the end line to call that ball in, and he can't even do that..

2012-06-19 04:07:58 PM
That was a goal. In a just world, it's 1-1 and Tymoshenko is not suspended.

Goal, clearly.

It's just the soccer gods finally making things right for England getting screwed over in the World Cup a couple of years ago!

Clear as day goal. Seriously, fark you UEFA. Get goal line technology in already.

Offsides was at 62:26 on the pass that crossed the midfield mark and not called.

That was a goal. Sorry, Ukraine. You got jobbed.

2012-06-19 04:10:30 PM
Here's the thing... I don't think goal line technology would be 100% foolproof either. Let's just have a replay official review the play for 60 seconds. He could've called it has "play was offside before the shot" and that's it.

Keep angering the Ukraine soccer gods

2012-06-19 04:11:47 PM

9beers: I'm guessing that they don't show replays in the stadium. If they do, the Ukrainian fans are going to burn that stadium to the ground after this match.

Didn't they stop doing replays in the stadium after a couple of world cup screw ups? FIFA got pissed the refs were being proven wrong or something like that.

nice shot from ashley cole. couldn't settle the ball but still had a cracker of a shot.

John Terry has just asked if that linesman can be on the jury at his trial next month.

I'll have to see it again. And will probably get that chance over and over!
/you think the fella that took the last pass (and shot) was offside or the previous one?

Goal line tech is sensors in the ball, not a replay official. If all the sensors cross the line, a light goes off. Play doesn't stop unless a goal is scored.

Can't be offside in your own half.

Why wasn't the side judge/assistant on the goal line for that play? His angle was pretty bad for a close play at the line.

The whole of the ball over the whole of the line.

Looked to be to me, but the assistant ref was closer than all of us so maybe it wasn't a goal?

The guy that received the pass was on the opponent's half when the pass was made.
