He's a better bass player than people give him credit for, and fit in that band really well. If you listen to what got played on the radio only, then you have a point. If you listened to the other stuff on the DLR era albums, you'd rethink that.

It's been mentioned before (I think), but it needs to be brought up again. The biggest red flag that should have been raised was when you see that there's a pic of Flea at the beginning of the article but not one RCHP song in her list. Epic fail...

While I may like a some of those songs on the list I wouldn't go so far as to say they had the "Mightiest Bass Lines." I think she would have been better served with a title of "My Favorite Bass Lines for the Hipster Wannabe."
Under Pressure is still my all time favorite (Another One Bites the Dust is #2 from Queen for me).

My brother in law saw them play in Toronto years before they got mainstream airplay. Their bass was a washtub, literally. Don't know if that's what they used on the record.

Sebastian Steinberg made me think of the great Jim Hughart, who played for Tom Waits, Shelley Manne, and a host of other West Coast jazz greats.

Shiat, forgot to mention that Hughart played on the Barney Miller theme.

I have to say, I stopped listening to Muse once every song of theirs became a generic protest ballad that could simultaneously be used in any Occupy Wall Street and Tea Party rally, but on their first three albums pretty every other song had a damn good baseline behind it.
