Wyalt Derp: Rwa2play: h no, there's still less than 5 months left until Election Day. So there are many opportunities for Obama to epically troll Romney and/or the Right-Wingers.

I hope he'll start referring to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as "Romneycare" loud and often.

Oh I SO want him to do that! Will have the right-wingers having major kittens about it.

soy_bomb: mrshowrules: Settle down. You won that election. You got Dubya back for 4 more years and he rescued the economy and kept you safe again. Remember? Everything worked fine. Not regulating the banks; letting the tax cuts create jobs; torture; Katrina; ending Iraq, getting OBL. Everything worked out fine. God knows what would have happened if Kerry would have been in charge. He might have done some really really stupid shiat.

Did you actually mean to hit "Add Comment"?

I notice you guys go to the non-sequiturs like this when someone destroys your point. I guess it's the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la la la can't hear you". You wouldn't actually want to address the point being made.

I heard the GOP is soliciting this guy to play Obama's part in their debate practice scheme.

So instead of actually admitting the Swift Boat campaign was disgusting behavior coming from the chicken hawk camp, you go to personal attacks on one of the people defending Kerry. Did you actually mean to write that?

We get it:

Hide from the war in the NG or serve Mormonism not your country = patriotic

Fight for your country even if you come from a wealthy family = anti-American

Coco LaFemme: I love our President. Seriously. Decent guy, wish he could be more liberal in his politics, but it's not entirely his fault that he hasn't been. Not to mention, he has a sense of humor, and can laugh at himself.

I hope John Kerry has enough of a sense of humor about himself not to get offended by the comparison being made.

Considering "rich and out of touch w/ real Americans" was the Republican talking point of 2004, I'd say accepting this position was Kerry's extended middle finger at Republicans.

True conservatism. Identification of problems and the difficulty of solving them. Yet the road forward is there.

I can't imagine how Romney would want to enter a debate with Obama. It's a situation just begging him for fail. Romney disagreed with the auto bailouts, the bin Laden hit, he wants to campaign on being a businessman but he won't talk about his experience (Bain).

Seriously? I want to watch these debates. I simply cannot imagine Obama losing to the guy, and that's really saying more about Romney than Obama. Obama's pretty boring, pretty tame, and Romney is a house of cards set up on a precariously balanced table.

Yes, John Kerry picked Edwards to be his VP as Edwards was a strong primary candidate. But I don't believe even Edwards' poor wife was aware of all the crap he was doing in the background during the 2008 campaign. Edward's affair was originally detected by the National Enquirer in 2007, but who believes them? Of course, he admitted it in August 2008 and helped the GOP capture the White House again due to his poor actions. He was indicted in 2011 by a grand jury so you have the benefit of hindsight to make your comments on Kerry now in the present day.

Likewise, Kerry had Wade Sanders, a fellow Vietnam Vet, help defend him against the outright lies from the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth group. Sanders was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart during his Vietnam service. You are correct the Silver Star was stripped from him for unspecified reasons by the Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus in August 2010, an Obama Administration member. Likewise, Wade plead guilty to one count of child pornography in December 2008. Again, you have the benefit of hindsight, unlike John Kerry.

If you want to get into this, may I remind you Nixon's closest advisers, attorney general, and VP resigned from their offices and were convicted of numerous felonies, some of which Nixon was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator. Nixon resigned in disgrace, the only US President to ever do so. Reagan used to make speeches about imaginary war heroes from WWII while his administration traded arms with Iran to get funds to the Nicaraguan Contras under his farkin' nose. George W. Bush lied numerous times himself, directly leading us into the Iraq War for his personal goal of taking Saddam out.

So, John Kerry doesn't have ESP to detect the bad deeds and crimes committed outside his or his staff's span of control. However, Republicans sure have a lot of nasty crap going on in their White Houses.

Where were you to tell us of these men's failings in 2008, soy_bomb?

You obviously haven't seen Kerry debate in 2008 or during the Vietnam War Era. Unless you think dropping catchy sound-bites is debating instead of developing a logical argument with supporting facts.

Romney tried to put some distance between himself and Reagan in his 1994 race with Kennedy. During a televised debate with Kennedy that October, he rebutted Kennedy's effort to link him to the former president: "I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush," he said. "I'm not trying to return to Reagan-Bush."

I guess if he told the truth he would be ok. But he has to get your Teabagger vote.

Go back and look at the 2004 Democratic primaries. Edwards ran for President too but Kerry beat him. As for campaigns, I can't really say. But the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth really blew a hole in Kerry's sails with their lies and accusations. Plus the Bush campaign and Republicans ran with those lies.

See below as this was a common theme during the Republican Convention, mocking Kerry's war record, legitimate and honorable as it was.
