(NESN)   Turns out much of the Costas interview with Tickle Monster didn't air. There can't be any real damning statements though, right?   (nesn.com) divider line 205

FTFA: "And I didn't go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I've helped. There are many that I didn't have -- I hardly had any contact with who I have helped in many, many ways."

W...T...F!?

How did that NOT get aired? Costas is clearly trying to get Sandusky to admit to something, and he does (inadvertently) and it doesn't get aired??

WTF?

He's actually taking the stand in his own defense?

Oh man, that'll be amazing. This guy slips up more than Joe Biden, his own defense attorneys will be asking for the death penalty by the time he's done to minimize the damages.

2012-06-18 05:07:56 PM
FTA: Sandusky did go out of his way to deny any allegations of inappropriate contact with children.

Um, no he didn't. He didn't go out of his way at all, the quote from the Boobies in these comments indicates that clear enough.

/add me in for another heaping helping of WTF

2012-06-18 05:10:00 PM
His attorney HAS to be going for "the conviction will be overturned on appeal based on 'massive, staggering, mind-boggling, earth-shattering levels of attorney incompetence.'"

Either that, or Sandusky's statements will be used for an insanity defense. "Seriously, your honor. This guy thought 'Well, I didn't fark ALL of the kids I helped out' was a winning strategy."

Costas doesn't want THAT kind of publicity. After all, it IS a family show. And it's not like Costas is a journalist.

This one is baffling to me. How do these women sit by and watch this? First it was that monster from Syracuse and now this horror show.

2012-06-18 06:07:20 PM
Not sure who was the defence witness they had today, but the news report I was listening to quoted him as saying something like "I saw him take young boys into the shower, but I didn't see anything unusual". I'm not quite sure how he managed to reconcile the first part of the statement with the second point.

2012-06-18 06:13:23 PM
Actually, this is a case of we're reading too much into his statement. What he was trying to say that he doesn't cruise for young ass. In fact, he never had enough time to do that with a majority of them.

So he had to be very selective ; to those that were cute and would keep silent.

Nobody is that obtuse. A spouse can hide a few things from anyone but they were married for many years and these kids were in her own house, in a separate room in the basement. There is no way she didn't have some sense of what was up.
My guess is that she had the life she wanted and didn't want to give it up. This may have kept him entertained, kept him away from her and also given her some leverage or a bargaining tool.
Listen to the interview, he isn't a real smooth operator.

Clearly she felt that 'spending an evening with the boys' wasn't something to be taken literally. Though I think that when he walked out of the house wearing one white glove, she should have had some suspicions.

He's not an editor. Someone above him chose to edit out that part of the interview, and it's probably a good thing he/she did. Now the prosecution can use it.

It's also possible that Sandusky's vocal inflections somehow made it sound less damning.

That quote about him not seeking out ALL the boys for a good raping did make the interview. I remembered because we all had pretty much the same reaction to it when it aired.

I propose we spend the rest of the thread determining suitable creative punishment for this farking pond scum freak in hopes the judge reads the thread and is open to suggestions.

I'll start with sticking him in a veal box and providing blunt weapons and a hit of angel dust so we can see who will be the first to mash his skull into liquid.

I say we give him a 100 pound scrotum like the guy in the thread that will go live shortly. Then provide angel dust as a reward for good behavior to certain inmates on his cell block. We do this each Cinco de Mayo and he serves as the cell block's pinata.

I don't find any of these "new" statements incriminating. Sandusky is simply a poor speaker.

He's going up the river none the less. The witnesses against him were pretty effective.

He is a classic, textbook narcissist. He can not understand that he can't explain his way out of this. He doesn't get that the world will not fall in love with him as soon as he starts talking. He can not see how taking the stand is a bad thing. He has no concept of how badly he is going to lose this case.

His lawyer couldn't keep him off. And yes, it will be exactly that lulzy.
