Snakeophelia: I'm completely mindboggled every time I hear of something like this. Can't wrap my head around the idea that someone stepping foot, or staying put, on land that isn't theirs is NOT a criminal offense. If it isn't, then what exactly does it mean to "own" land? Or for land to be "public" property?
