Alright, listen up, people. Our fugitive has been on the run for ninety minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries is 4 miles-per-hour. That gives us a radius of six miles. What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive's name is Dr. Richard Kimble. Go get him.

That's because "animals are exactly the same as people".
Except for the ones that get killed due to harvesting my vegan-friendly grains and beans. Those ones can be conveniently ignored.

Four cattle had to be shot and killed because they were roaming I-255 just after the crash. Around 7 a.m., another cattle got away and was trotted across the highway before authorities were forced to shoot that animal as well.

City Boys- they're cows NOT hostiles. They'll wander a bit. Doesn't take too much to get them to move to where you need them

It was on the East side of the river, still in Illinois. Just saying.

It took a long time to get past the accident. The cops wouldn't take my order.

I can understand why that would be necessary. A .40 caliber pistol (which is what most police carry these days) is a relatively poor stopper of a 180lb human - it's a compromise in power, recoil, size, weight, over-penetration, etc. Compared to the average deer rifle, it's pathetically weak, but it is much easier to hang on a belt and carry around all day, and should it ever need to be used it probably won't shoot all the way through a perp, the house behind him, and some innocent person.

Now compare the average deer to a cow - the cow is 4-5 times as big. It's not hard to see why the average service pistol would take a few rounds to stop a cow. And keep in mind that this cow is running loose so you can't line up a perfect .22 caliber brain shot the way you would with an animal that was being slaughtered.

Came here to post this, cattle are five times as heavy as humans and these ones are bred to have as much meat as possible on their frame. Good luck killing them in one with anything less than a lucky eyeshot.

Marcintosh: City Boys- they're cows NOT hostiles. They'll wander a bit. Doesn't take too much to get them to move to where you need them

They tend to get a bit crazy when injured and scared, though, and it's a bit tough to bring an emergency herd dog in when the freeway is backed up for miles.

/Should have split into pairs and tipped them all, for the lulz.
