Holy shiat. Holy shiat.
I remember reading cutesy articles about people singing him that song when he turned 64.

...then 6 years passed in the blink of an eye.

Holy shiat. Not cool.

That picture FTA is a good one. He does not look that good candidly. Pretty sure that's an old pic, or touched up or something. Saw him in person by accident and he looks 70. Not a bad thing, it just is.

if you've never trolled a serious Beatles discussion with things like 'Paul was nearly irrelevant in the band' or my favorite 'The Beatles ruined rock and roll. Had it not been for the horrible end of the 50s where we lost Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Eddy Cochrane, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent to death or serious injury and Elvis to the Army, rock and roll could have been something great, not what Eurotrash like the Beatles made it', today might be a good day for it.

Getting old sucks don't it?

I just realized that my parents are the same age as Paul. Just can't see MY dad on Ed Sullivan though.

Saw him last July at Yankee Stadium. Fantastic. The best compliment I can give is that the show seemed like it would have been no different if he had been 29 and not 69. 3 hours with no breaks and I didn't even see him drink any water.

Happy Bday, Sir Paul. We still need you, we'll still feed you. I'm 31 years old, but the Beatles (with an assist from my pops) were the soundtrack to my childhood.

Cheers, mate!

For like the last 30 years Paul has ended all the big charity rock concerts by singing Let it Be. Who are we going to get to take his place? What will the big finale be now? We've got to start thinking about this

well, no breaks except for the interminable applause breaks between songs. You know. Sir Paul walking from one end of the stage to the other, mugging, the mock shocked expression, pointing as the Hofner bass, winking at the front row, the thumbs up, then the canned jokes he tells between songs.....that 3 hour show could be just 2 hours. just saying.

The Beatles were a lower-quality rip-off of the Monkees.

It's also nice that you never had to postone a tour by claiming you were too tired.

...but what kind of self-respecting rock legend would ever do a thing like that?

Well, to be fair, if the Beatles had the benifit of Neil Diamond write some of their songs, like the Monkees, I could of been a different story.

Nice work. In all seriousness, I once dated a girl who said that the only good thing about the Beatles was that they wrote music for her favorite male a capella groups to sing. This is also the same girl who whined that Clapton's Layla went on way too long. It was after I heard her say the latter that I knew our relationship had to end. She was kind of an idiot.
