So it's just becoming an ad bot that corrals you in to apple's advertising partner's world?

"Siri, what are the business hours for Big Stank's Chicken Hut?"

"That place sucks, wouldn't you prefer these restaurants instead?"

"Goddamnit Siri"

Siri must be an apple customer.

My personal favorite is that on multiple occasions I have had this conversation:

Me:Send a text message to (mrs Egoy)
Siri: What would you like it to say
Me:Hey babe I'm on my way home need anything?
Siri: Who would you like to send it to?
Me: (Mrs Egoy)
Siri:What would you like it to say?
Me: I hate you Siri

Woz makes a great point. If you ask Siri a question, it tries to shoehorn your question into the services that it plays nicely with: Yelp reviews, stock prices, weather, etc.

If you want to reliably get answers to questions like getting a list of the five largest lakes in California, you can do that, but you have to say "Wolfram what are the five largest lakes in California." It's cumbersome, it goes against the whole natural speech thing, Wolfram as a word doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, and worst of all it isn't really documented anywhere so most people don't know about it.

I vaguely recall the company (president?) that developed it coming out shortly after Siri was released and saying that it could do a whole lot more, but that Apple had crippled it in order to come out with "improvements" in successive products. Might not have been that blatant, but I'm pretty sure it was said to work better. I don't feel like looking for it.
