FTFA: Newt Gingrich was the featured speaker at the convention.

Apparently there were TWO things brought to the convention on wheels, rented by the hour, displayed anti-Obama rhetoric, and were overflowing with sh*t.

My first apartment didn't look too bad. the roomie and I fixed it up as best we could, kept it very clean.

But walk in the kitchen at night, turn on the lights, and you'd see a dozen of cockroaches scurry away.

Electing the first black President turned on the lights in this country. We're discovering just how bad our problem with pests and vermin really is.

DrBenway: JohnnyC: I kind of wish a day would go by where a Republican or their supporters wouldn't disappoint me on a simple human level. Just one day where they don't do or say something farked up... I know... it's probably too much to ask.

Democrats disappoint me. On a daily basis, Republicans actually piss me off and actively offend my sensibilities.

Perhaps I was too gentle in my phrasing... The Republican party should be disbanded entirely and a new party should be formed in its place. I have no illusions about a 3rd party... I just want two parties that are still interested in good governance. The Democrats aren't great at it, but they mean well and try pretty hard to do good things most of the time. Republicans... they don't even mean well anymore and the only thing they try to do is make Obama look bad. At this point the "Bigotry Party" seems a more apt and accurate description of the Republican party. They're bigoted against homosexuals, minorities, poor people, people of other religions, people with no religion, women, anyone from a foreign country, scientists (or science in general), and even intelligent people. They're against educators and education in general.... farking education. How can one possibly be against learning?! It's almost as if they revere ignorance... especially willful ignorance.

Essentially... Republicans are irredeemable. Their brand is permanently scarred by their actions and I don't see a path back into even my consideration. Even if they suddenly stopped being the embarrassment that they currently are, I wouldn't believe them. If they proposed some kind seemingly good piece of legislation or a bill, I would assume automatically that there was something nefarious about it. Some way that they intend on farking someone over using said legislation. I don't trust them and I don't think I will ever trust them again.

Democrats fark up too... don't get me wrong. They just rarely do it intentionally. When they fark up, it's usually a mistake or oversight... not maliciousness.

fortuitous coincidence for potential double entendre methinks. Outhouses are commonly shown with crescent moons cut in the sides

They used sticker bullet holes... and pretending they're not there doesn't actually make them not exist.

That's at the corner of US 95 and Chatcolet Road in Worley Idaho. Staunch Republican town.

The photo was posted in July, 2008 just after President Bush signed the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. Link

Local Republicans were angry that President Bush had bailed out Wall Street, so they put up the outhouse. I'm not sure your point.

FTFA: State GOP Chairman Will Deschamps said he didn't know who was responsible for the outhouse but called it a "sideshow," the paper reported.

"It's not something I'm going to agonize over," he said. "Some of that stuff is not real good taste.

Of course if something like this were done by the Democratic party in protest to a Republican politician, the exact same person would probably be talking how it represented the mainstream view fo the Democratic Party and demand an apology from President Obama for it.

Remember when criticizing the President. even one you didn't vote for, for ANYthing (including policies) was considered by the Right Wing to be an act of treason? It's almost like something changed. We're still at "war," the threat level is still orange, there are apparently still terrorists out there wanting to kill us since I've got to submit to an anal probe if I want to fly. What. Could. Have. Changed...

I can understand why Montanans are so uptight. They're bored.

Yet they will still get a fair share of the votes this fall. Some have gone off the derp cliff and others will vote R because they always vote R, no matter what R stands for.

A: ------
B: --------
C: ----

About a third of the population will say that line A is the longest if they are in a group of three other people of equal status who state that line A is the longest. That's a completely black and white issue that uses the most basic cognitive abilities and requires no additional authority invested in the peers. Think what you could convince people to do if you were able to feed them daily news with the sound of authority, that is backed up by radio hosts those people listen to on the way to and from work and then further complemented by what their religious leaders tell them.

Imagine the possibilities.

In their defense, your average GOP voter probably doesn't know what a library actually is, and does 99% of his reading on the toilet to begin with.

They might actually think the pit-toilet outhouse behind their broken down trailer is a library.

Yet they will still get a fair share of the votes this fall. Some have gone off the derp cliff and others will vote R because they always vote R, no matter what R stands for.

i'm not even sure the Republicans know what the Republican party stands for anymore.

State GOP Chairman Will Deschamps said he didn't know who was responsible for the outhouse but called it a "sideshow," the paper reported.

"It's not something I'm going to agonize over," he said. "Some of that stuff is not real good taste. We do have a president of the United States, and we have to honor that."

Going to go out on a limb and suggest that if this part of the event is garnering a news article devoted to it, it has been upgraded from "sideshow" to "show" and you might want to agonize over it a little bit. Is this how you want to be portrayed? Is that kind of message the one you want to send to your constituents? Maybe you should say more about it than it isn't in good taste. Maybe say "Hey, guys, knock it off. There are legitimate reasons to be upset and there are appropriate ways to express it. This is childish, and that's not what we want to stand for. We're better than this." Maybe something along those lines.

But I guess you don't want to risk upsetting the people who will only vote for your side no matter what. Strange.
