I might be mistaken, but I think the meme's getting old and subby wasn't even trying to do it cleverly.

I think it's being used ironically and many of you missed it.

I don't get the point of the headline.

2012-06-17 08:15:31 PM
There were no additional details available about Witmer's death, but officials said it was a drowning incident

They use that phrase twice. What's the difference between drowning and a "drowning incident"?

Most drowning deaths during triathlons come from the swimming part of the event, iirc.

It's quite impossible to drown whilst running and cycling.

When was LaGrange a meme?

I wouldn't say it's a meme per se, but the headline has been used numerous times in the past and now just reeks of unoriginality, is entirely expected and over-played and tiresome and not at all clever.

"LaGrange man accused of stabbing and killing his pregnant girlfriend in 1981. "She was stabbed 34 times in the chest and back." A how how how how how how how how sick can you get?"

"I think the Herschel and Planck telescopes are on their way to the earth's L2 Lagrange point...but now I might be mistaken"

"Swine flu victim in LaGrange is still seriously ill after two weeks. Doctors would like to help her, but don't know a-how-how-how-how "

"La Grange man trapped in car wash for 36 hours, HAW HAW HAW"

"Fourteen year-old girl dies in La Grange hospital after being stabbed by a burglar. A how how how how how how how how senseless"

"Woman shot to death in La Grange. Police still don't know a -- how how how how"

"A how-how-how-how about we wish ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons a happy 61st birthday by enjoying this awesome performance of La Grange"

/I'm not even linking to them because they're all dumb

The Lagrange points are the five positions in an orbital configuration where a small object affected only by gravity can theoretically be stationary relative to two larger objects .

Actually, it's not. There's any number of conditions that can cause a person's lungs to fill with fluid and/or blood. If it's bad enough and you don't get medical treatment fast enough, well what kills you is the same thing as getting water in your lungs while swimming.

There is humor in repetition. Certainly, it doesn't appeal to you, but some of us like the absurdity of over-use.

Triathalon race. Caught sayof man that has stoped breathing. " See, told ya so" Is He dead or not. CNN Says yes. LaGrange Times Looking for chads -OR- "hello, I might be mistaken a how how how how."

He should had been more careful to avoid these points. Now it's only his fault that he became stationary.
