If he'd just stayed in the car, he wouldn't be dead.

Unless he drove into the pool

Alonjar: *shrug* Rodney King was a giant piece of human trash. Im not saying police brutality is right, because it certainly isnt, but the cops were playing hardball with a career criminal.

The mans got like 8 DUIs in addition to PCP charges for farks sake.

Some people just insist on being stupid. King was one of them, and I can't feel sorry for how he ended.

/I'll say the same about Lindsey Lohan when her stupid luck finally runs out

elchip He was on NPR a few weeks back. He blew all his money on starting a failed hip-hop label or something.

I met someone from his lawyer's office, as I recall after the 8 mill settlement the City Of LA's people laughed & said they were authorized to pay up to 25 mill. The lawyer insisted he invest a certain chunk of it in a gravel/cement plant. As far as I know that's been his main source of income

So... You were pleased to watch cops beat him? That lazy dirty n word?

We all know there's going to be drugs in his system... You're just being a douche.

No, I expect the cops, of all people, to obey the law and not use excessive force. But that doesn't change the fact that King couldn't stay out of trouble. That's on him.

Fair enough. But just cuz he's an alcoholic junkie doesn't make it remotely okay for power tripping redneck cops to neat him near to death.

Bathia_Mapes: He's also had a long-standing problem with alcoholism as well, so that may have been a factor in his death.

Alcohol may or may not have contributed to his death, but drinking certainly did.

2012-06-17 12:07:24 PM
The original bias news story that started it all.Lib's only talk about the cops beating him. They forget that King went after the cops, wasn't cooperating whatsoever. Oh yeah, that deadlocked jury, no whites were on it.

between this douche and O.J., this is what started the race friction back up. Race relations have never been 100%, but in the late 70's to 1992, they were probably the best they're ever going to be. But, what are you going to do? The media likes to .keep things tense, and it's still going on with Zimmerman (though they had to find a way to tie whitey into that one).

2012-06-17 12:08:20 PM
Im not saying police brutality is right, because it certainly isnt, but the cops were playing hardball with a career criminal.

There were two guys in the car with him that were not touched because they listened to the cops. The moran took cops on a high speed chase through residential neighborhoods while drunk. Then he was difficult after they got him out of the car. The cops didn't beat him enough.

Just imagine some drunk coming down your street at 80 mph.

See, there's always some guy who farks up the deadpool and brings the draft to a halt with a "Rodney King" or some such nonsense. It's gotta be a celebrity, man.
And don't give me "b b but riots!"
He's no more of a celebrity than the meth-head on COPS wearing a Foghat t-shirt.
Stop polluting the dead pool with that shiat.

Wait, i'm sorry. I meant, "RIP Rod Stewart!"

This is very sad. I am ashamed at the disrespectful responses from the FARKERS here. This man deserves a heros memorial. He inspired an entire community to rise up and say in one powerful voice, ENOUGH. I hope and pray that he is in the great company of Ms. Rosa Parks and DR. Martin Luther King JR. The African American community lost a great leader today. Show some respect!

From the CNN link:

http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/17/us/obit-rodney-king/index.html?hpt=hp_t 1

Police in Rialto, California, received a 911 call from King's fiancee, Cynthia Kelly, about 5:25 a.m., said Capt. Randy DeAnda.

[snip]

Kelly was a juror in King's lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles in 1994.
