I was thinking the same thing. I am 40 now and back in 1991/1992, I just remember him seeming like an "old" man already.

And at that age, that probably meant mid to late 30's

He didn't, but it wasn't the job of the cops to teach him. Have you seen the video? He was face down, hands visible next to his head, clearly surrendering. The cops should have just cuffed him and stuffed him at that point, not kicked him.

That's a possibilty. He's also had a long-standing problem with alcoholism as well, so that may have been a factor in his death.
