Alleyoop: sno man: You do know that at the time this was written, the sum total of the hoops to jump through were... what's your name? and where are you from? ...Right?

Regardless of the time or the extent of the screening, we didn't allow citizens of other countries write our rules.

But re-writing and over complicating the rules every few years is so helpful to everyone.

sno man: An ongoing investigation is ongoing, asshat. That any law enforcement officer let alone a sheriff has multiple ongoing criminal investigations against him might send up a red flag for most people...
Not anything to do with like or dislike at all.

If that's your standard, isn't it OK to ask immigration status of suspects when they are being investigated?

if, by investigated, you mean stopped on the street for being brown.... no
if, by investigated for (insert actual crime of choice here) yea, why not?

And?

Obviously we need to find her family so they can be sent back home with her but what does age have to do with it? The law is the law.

CtrlAltDestroy: Bullshiat. Our immigration system is farked up. It takes way too long and way too much money ($10,000+ per person, easily) to become a citizen. All our system does is make it unnecessarily difficult. It's government reinforced xenophobia. We all came from elsewhere yet so many want to keep this stolen land for ourselves. So many want deny others the chance that our ancestors had, the very chance that led to them being here at all. It's nothing more than another, "I got mine, fark you."

Admirable, but still not an excuse for justifying the existence of illegals or any border crossings resulting in the survival of any human beings that attempt it. Otherwise we put up with lawlessness evidenced by these kinds of signs:

Can't the underage illegals be naturalized by subtracting them from their origin countries' legal immigration quotas? Of course there are so many illegals who entered this way there would basically be no more legal immigration until the year 2525.

Jamieboy: ciberido: Lionel Mandrake: Sheriff Arpaio later announced that he would be forming a Posse to "go on a fact-finding mission to...um, I don't know...Mazatlan?"

Sheriff Arpaio is still in office? How has that clown managed to avoid being arrested?

I want to know when the sob is going to die.

I've met him and my brother actually knows him. It won't be long now. He's older than his biography and Wikipedia page say and clearly has signs of dementia.

AbbeySomeone: Am I the only one that RTFA? She was travelling in a van with strangers. That isn't safe and she wasn't the only one apprehended.

She wasn't placed with a foster family. She was arrested.

Much larger version

That only reinforces the idea that immigration done properly has value to it. If you're just going to be lazy and not go through the proper procedure, there's always Europe and its metric farkton of illegals. Arizona is being too kind even for Arpaio and those in Arizona who favor strong enforcement.

The only things to scrap would be all the guest worker programs. They have no purpose outside of making things worse for citizens. Shame that AZEIR, a pro-amnesty employer group, had Utah enact such a program that bypasses citizens.

You did not read his post. But, yes, making it nearly impossible to legally immigrate into the USA increases the "value" of legal immigration.

Tyee: One man is pandering for votes while the other is doing the job "the people", the citizens of Arizona and the United States have asked him to do.

I know I feel safer now that this six year old serious criminal is off the streets. I don't know how anyone could sleep at night with rogue six year olds prowling around.

Oh, a sign. Gosh, that changes everything.

There is a local "city" that disallowed the use of balls in the parks because the local old, white people are so hateful that they can not even bear the sight of a brown child playing. There is a sign posted at each park stating that the use of balls in the park is illegal. Clearly, this proves that balls are dangerous and must be avoided at all costs. Citizens should be advised to call 9-1-1 if they spot a ball.

Um, the U.S. is BY FAR one of the easiest countries to immigrate too. We have far lower requirements than most first world nations. (Check out Canada where they require proof of employment and fluency in their national languages, for example.)

And the U.S. allows many more immigrants annually than any other nation on the face of the planet. Not just by a little bit more. But we allow 10 to 100 times the annual immigration of any other nation in the world.

BTW - The U.S. has the single largest population of 1st generation foreign born citizens of any nation in the world. Yeah that sounds real "xenophobic".

Your claims about the U.S. being xenophobic or difficult to immigrate to are demonstrably and easily proven false.

You are flat out a pathetic liar. I'm curious if we will hear back from you on the subject. Lol.

I did read & answer his post, just not with the pro-amnesty/Randian answer.

Despite the "convoluted" nature of becoming a citizen in the US, it is a lot easier than a lot of other countries.

Lunaville: Oh, a sign. Gosh, that changes everything.

Ok, then by all means don't be surprised when you run into some group that's well armed and knows they're not supposed to be there. Just don't tell us that you weren't warned.

You should also be lucky that napalm isnt being dropped on these people to discourage scattering & repeat visits. But then all the pro-amnesty side thinks of illegals are the desperate people that have done nothing wrong by bypassing proper channels.

Well that neatly summarizes all that anyone needs to know about you.

CtrlAltDestroy: I'm pretty sure that you missed the point of that graphic

i'm pretty sure you haven't responded to the fact that it is wrong, and while you're at it perhaps you'd like to explain why it is misleading

on the left side it begins by talking about people wanting to come and work in America, but by the time you finish following the pied piper to the right it ends with some guy growing a beard which mysteriously became "full citizenship"

does one need to be a citizen in order to work and live in America?

also i can't help but notice that you aren't responding the the "open borders" question that many of your followers seem to be fond of, would anyone care to defend such a policy?

and you think the person you're responding to is missing the point?

how dare he complain about illegal immigrants, obviously he's a racist right wing nutjob big bussiness corporate shill

btw for those complaining about the immigration process taking sooo long, what with all those background checks (who cares if we let in a bunch of drug lords and terrorists?!) and verifying economic viability, perhaps we can speed up the process by re-routing all the funds we waste on illegal immigrant's health care, incarceration, legal expenses, food, housing, etc... and just use those funds to hire more LEGAL immigrant case workers...?

*waits for praise and adulation*

As with your defense of amnesty.
