He should have sneaked across the border on the Swayze Express.

His mistake was thinking the wire across Niagara Falls was still going to be there today.

change1211: plutonium238: Guns dont kill people......illogical greed and poorly thought out plans that lead to the destruction of families do.
/Canada needs to learn some American
Style wrath and enforce death penalties.
/why waste the tax dollars.

I'm not really taking sides here but everyone had guns and the death penalty usually costs the US more than life without parole.

Also, thanks for catching this dirtbag America! You guys are pretty cool sometimes.

Kurohone: Benevolent Misanthrope: I count 5 people so far on TF who knew this guy. WTF? Does every-farking-body in Canada know everyone else or something?

The Edmonton geek community is very large, and massively interconnected. I never knew this guy, nor the victims, but several of my friends were close with Michelle.

Michelle? From CANADA!?!?!?!

THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND!

/I didn't think anyone knew her.

clowncar on fire: popesballs: Good news. Next up is that armored car employee in Pittsburgh who murdered his co-worker and took off with the cash a few months back. I thought they would've caught that prick by now.

If you have cash, it is very easy to "disappear" in America as we can move about with virtually no accountability. What usually gives them away is the odd spending behaviors they have.

That and the fact that all his twenties have pictures of the Queen of England on them...

Wait until you play the Mennonite game. You are like Kevin Bacon, except you are usually only three degrees of separation away from anyone in the province if not the country!

It's a small, creepy world. One of my Edmonton Fark friends said that Travis worked with her partner at a previous job.

SumoJeb: Pinhedd: SumoJeb: Yay. Another jackass criminal to go through our amazing court system. I give him a month of jail time before the courts decide he can be out amongst the public.

You know that first degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence in Canada right? The courts have no say over that

Oh he will get off on some technicality. Probably be found to be insane or mentally unstable. He will get a hospital bed not a jail cell. He will be out in a matter of months. It's the Canadian way, eh?

GFOADIAF

You probably believe the con-propaganda that a massive crime wave is sweeping the nation and the only solution is to build more prisons, more prisons, more prisons.

CraicBaby: Travis was an aquaintance of mine when I lived in Sherwood Park. He was best friends with a friend I knew from work. I've sat and had beers with him a couple times. He also dated my ex-SIL for a brief time. He came off as a douchebag and a bit of a creep, but I never would have guessed he would do something like this. It was freaky enough that this happened in a part of U of A that I was very familiar with, but the fact that I actually knew this guy is just farking surreal. I'm still in shock that I've sat across the table and gotten drunk with him. Though, I'm not surprised he didn't think his cunning plan all the way through. He never struck me as being very smart.

I knew Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy was a friend of mine. Travis is no Ted Bundy.

Anytime I see "armoured car" I think of a vehicle shielded with cans of Treet and Vienna Sausages.
