LOL what a dumbass. He went to the US border? Canada's got a vast amount of land to get lost in forever.

Hey! The new FARK app notification worked. Yippee!

Hey! newflash from Fark!

I love hearing Drew... "W-T-F!"

Yay. Another jackass criminal to go through our amazing court system. I give him a month of jail time before the courts decide he can be out amongst the public.

2012-06-16 09:32:33 PM
What an idiot. I'm glad he was stupid enough to think he could actually use all that Canadian money in the US somewhere.

Organic Chemistry: Hey! The new FARK app notification worked. Yippee!

I was waiting for this, too, to test it. I got a "Yooo".

His mistake was thinking the wire across Niagara Falls was still going to be there today.

make me some tea: LOL what a dumbass. He went to the US border? Canada's got a vast amount of land to get lost in forever.

No kidding.

Well, at least aphexcoil and the other TFarkers and TFettes who knew the guy can rest easy now. Damn shame, and I feel bad for them.

You know that first degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence in Canada right? The courts have no say over that

Travis was an aquaintance of mine when I lived in Sherwood Park. He was best friends with a friend I knew from work. I've sat and had beers with him a couple times. He also dated my ex-SIL for a brief time. He came off as a douchebag and a bit of a creep, but I never would have guessed he would do something like this. It was freaky enough that this happened in a part of U of A that I was very familiar with, but the fact that I actually knew this guy is just farking surreal. I'm still in shock that I've sat across the table and gotten drunk with him. Though, I'm not surprised he didn't think his cunning plan all the way through. He never struck me as being very smart.

Oh he will get off on some technicality. Probably be found to be insane or mentally unstable. He will get a hospital bed not a jail cell. He will be out in a matter of months. It's the Canadian way, eh?

Yet another idiot who thinks you rob banks at the street level.

I think we've seen time and time again the only way to properly rob a bank is from the top. But that resembles work too much.

People like this don't care about facts; if they did they would already know what you said because it's common knowledge. Once they've started ranting and frothing, nothing short of God parting the clouds, pointing his giant finger at them and telling them to STFU will cause them to stop and consider that maybe they might just be morans.

Good news. Next up is that armored car employee in Pittsburgh who murdered his co-worker and took off with the cash a few months back. I thought they would've caught that prick by now.

That's the best he could come up with? Sh*t, with all the non-places to go in Canada, he heads for the perhaps the most secure border in the world. Pure genius.

CraicBaby: He never struck me as being very smart.

That much is certain.

I knew this guy. I'm dissappointed, disheartened, shocked and still haven't totally come to grips with the fact that I knew someone who is quickly becoming notorious for all the wrong reasons.

I hope he goes to jail for life and the lone survivor pulls through. Horrible tragedy.

Yeah, BC is the last place where you'd want to cross the border if you're running from the law. Go to Bumfark, Saskatchewan and drive across a field or something.

I knew Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy was a friend of mine. Travis is no Ted Bundy.

Abbotsford, BC - Just within spitting distance from Lynden, WA.

Good job, Mounties!

GFOADIAF

You probably believe the con-propaganda that a massive crime wave is sweeping the nation and the only solution is to build more prisons, more prisons, more prisons.

Yeah, like I said, he never did seem to be very smart. He was also driving the same blue truck that had been reported by the media yesterday, and he was still using the license plate from his mother's car.

If you have cash, it is very easy to "disappear" in America as we can move about with virtually no accountability. What usually gives them away is the odd spending behaviors they have.

Apparently that truck didn't have a radio, because those facts were on the CBC every half hour for the last 24-36 hours.

Wait until you play the Mennonite game. You are like Kevin Bacon, except you are usually only three degrees of separation away from anyone in the province if not the country!

JonnyG: Sh*t, with all the non-places to go in Canada, he heads for the perhaps the most secure border in the world.

I agree it wasn't his smartest move to head towards a place where there's guaranteed to be at least one Mountie who'd know about him, but the US-Canada border is one of the most porous in the world, not counting the EU or active war zones. That's why it's such a nice one, unless you're trying to cross it near a city during rush hour or bar time. (Like this guy.)

If he'd driven due south and crossed the border on foot into BFE, Montana, he'd have accomplished his goal of eluding Canadian justice. At least until someone in Kalispell wondered what was up with this twitchy guy trying to buy a car with a backpack crammed full of Canadian twenties.

My point being, Can-Am border shenanigans: they're not just for Neal Stephenson novels!

4) Profit!

That and the fact that all his twenties have pictures of the Queen of England on them...

I'm not really taking sides here but everyone had guns and the death penalty usually costs the US more than life without parole.

Also, thanks for catching this dirtbag America! You guys are pretty cool sometimes.
