Total Recall and now this. Is there any pointless requel the Lecherous Leprechaun isn't hellbent on joining?

It's more like a dramatization of the making of it. They're making a lot of those. Do they think we care?

Evidently, they do. This might be the new cinematic trend du jour as found footage is old and busted.

As much as I stand stand the genre, found footage movies aren't going anywhere, they're too cheap to make and profitable. We're just not going to see any until the summer is well over.

*Sigh* I can't even dispute that.

This one seems pretty interesting, as it involves Walt Disney and PL Travers, who was apparently more than a bit of a biatch. Walt courted Travers for the rights for years, then once she finally gave in and let him make the movie, she made his life a living hell.

With Emma Thomson and Hanks, it should at least be interesting to watch.

I'm pretty OK with the idea of this movie. The director doesn't have a decent track record outside of writing A Perfect World, but what the heck.

You forgot Fright Night.

Oh no....That was an intentional omission.

Another point I am sure they figured out is whether or not you watch this movie; you will start thinking about a movie somewhat forgotten. Just this story has me thinking of renting Mary Poppins for my 9 year old daughter and surely others will too. You know they have planned a new release of Mary Poppins blue rays that are already in the making.

Notice how they talk about a new chapter of Rambo and suddenly a new set of Rambo movies release in blue ray? They make new junk to sell you old stuff because people are suckers for nostalgia. It works okay for me. I have had shirts come back in style. Now to get the Ford company to redesign their trucks to style after the 1970's Ford trucks.

Emma Thompson being all British and screaming at Tom Hanks playing Walt Disney? Weirdest boner territory.

And Sasha Grey will play Julie Andrews.

If Tom Hanks doesn't have a cigarette in his hand through the whole thing, he won't be playing an authentic Walt Disney ;)

I'm hoping one of the key points of the movie is endlessly making fun of whoever plays Dick van Dyck for his terrible Cockney accent.

I would watch Colin Ferrell read Vogon poetry & enjoy it. As long as he stays sexy I'll pretty much watch anything he's in. Yes woman like watching bad boys. Even when they know better. I just would never take him home to mom. (lol like I have a chance)

The premise of the movie sounds interesting. I'm one of those people who like learning about back stories.

I farking hate Collin Farrell. He is one of those "don't you know who I am?!" type of celebrities, but likes to pepper it with tons of swears. So annoyed he is getting a comeback.

If Farrell get neekked, I'll go see it.

I somehow read (or understood) that as Sacha Baron Cohen and I was very afraid...

So Hanks plays Walt Disney? What the hell, Hanks? You used to fight Nazis in your movies.

I know you're trolling, but being a Nazi is one thing you can't accuse Walt of being. He turned out some of the sharpest propaganda of WWII and basically gave his entire studio over to the war effort.

Now, if you want to talk about his anti-union actions or his obsessive fear/hatred of Communism, that's another matter.

That's one of the few things Walt and Jack Warner ever agreed on.

I wonder who's going to play Robert Stevenson, the director. Stevenson ran Travers off the set more than once.

Screw the haters, he's a decent actor. And he was awesome in the Fright Night remake.

Colin Farrell was in In Bruges, so he gets a permanent pass from me. Besides, this could be interesting.

Good point. One of the better movies of the last decade.

I don't know how good this will be. It atleast is being made by disney co, so it won't turn into a hit piece on disney and the industry crushing dreams.

my wife informed me that she had never seen Mary Poppins a week or so ago. I immediately made her sit with me and watch it with me, as I have always loved the film.

Julie Andrews remains radiant in that picture. And you could cut about 50 minutes off the runtime and it would be a MUCH better film. As is... man, Mary Poppins is farking hard to sit thru. I hadn't watched it in its entirety since I was a kid, and man o man that farking movie just goes ON AND ON AND ON. Hell, my wife bored out of the film by the time they had jumped into the chalk drawing. The entire song with the penguins could be cut and the movie wouldn't miss it. Supercalifragilistic (the song number) is FAR too long. Chim Chim Cheree is far too long. I think they forgot that they weren't producing a stage musical. That film could use a serious fan edit and it would be MUCH better. 90 minutes. that is what Mary Poppins should run. That motherfarker is 139 minutes long. JESUS. Did Peter Jackson have a hand in it??
