I've been hypnotized a few times. It's the real deal, if you want it to be. It would also not be a problem to "snap out of it".

Why is it that all attempts at hypnotizing young girls end badly?

I promise you, if your students never wake up again, I'll take you to the restaurant of your choice - do you like Chinese food?

HYPNOSIS DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

One student at Collège du Sacré-Coeur was reportedly left hypnotized for five hours

Well, actually, yeah, hypnosis can work this way. Five hours isn't insane. But a trance is a voluntary state. You can't hypnotize the unwilling and you can't keep them under. With their consent, you can hypnotize them so deep they can get dental work done, but without it, you can't even get them deep enough to ignore a gnat's fart.

Plus, if someone goes too deep, they're not stuck. If you shook 'em hard or something unexpected, they'd come up and if you let them be, they'll fall down into sleep. Either way.

After the show, the student was quoted as saying, "I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I'm going to see it again and again."

YouTube is so terrible these days as the DMCA police have pretty much taken all the original but fair use clips off of it.

Anyway, apropos Bathia_Mapes, Office Space is available on netflix instant at the clip starts around 21:00.

netflix instant link, would this work?

But I hate how all the movie clips are now gone from netflix.

Actually, a trance is voluntary. That "faking it" you claim is a necessary step. Done properly and with the consent of both parties, you can do some really interesting things.

He sounds white.

The girls later described being under the sustained spell as feeling spaced out, with heavy limbs.
"I don't know how to explain it. It's like you're no longer there," Émilie Bertrand said. "You're spaced out."

So being hypnotized = being stoned? Duly noted!

Ahhh, so that's why my class always presents me with blank, glassy stares when I ask them a question. I'm not dreadfully boring, I've just hypnotised them.

...doesn't explain the dudes, though.

/Why yes, I am conceited. However did you guess?

earlier this week:

Yves Bolduc, Quebec Health Minister, expressed his opinion that the image contains subliminal messages that incite violence.

Yves Bolduc believes that by simply possessing this image in his residence, Mr. Khadir poses a threat. "There are always subliminal messages put forward through paintings like this. For certain vulnerable people, this can be a danger," he maintained.

At a company Xmas party, I was indeed hyptotized and acted like a complete fool for 20 minutes in front of my 30+ co-workers and spouses, who told me weeks later that it was the funniest show they'd ever seen.

Best way to describe it: you are wide open to suggestions, EVERYTHING sounds like fun that you must impulsively do RIGHT EFFING NOW. No filters, no common sense, no impulse control.

Not fun, will never, ever do it again.

But there is no "one way" trance. If you are suggestible enough to be hypnotized you are suggestible enough to come out of it when told. There is consent to be put into a trance, if you don't come out, it is because you don't consent to it (so to speak).

Kinda.

It's YOUR head. You can trance out without a hypnotist easy peasy. Most people manage it at least part of every night before they nod off totally. If the guy puts 'em in a trance and then they don't really want to untrance not sure you could wake 'em without doing something unpleasant and probably illegal for anyone buy a family member or close personal friend to do, like smack 'em across the face unexpectedly.
