It's going to be awesome. I fully expect to see flat-out brawls, fat ladies in flag shirts running in circles punching themselves in the face to put the fire on their head out, old timey pistol showdowns, a shirtless Glenn Beck jumping up and down like a lemur monkey yelling about Fartbongo and all kinds of other good stuff. It's going to be like that fight scene from Anchorman. It's entirely possible that somebody will take a trident to the chest. I can't wait.

I see a lot of fat old men getting steadily more redfaced until they both pass out of heart attacks while their eager sons--never employed, but one day they'll be BILLIONAIRES--try to find a way to equate their fathers' unfortunate passing as a point of pride for 2014. "MY DADDY DIED FOR YOUR FREEDOMS AT THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION!!" And many bets will be made about how many '50s fashions will be draped over the horribly obese white cattle that we call the Republican Base as they bleat random words about situations that don't even exist: "Obama is raping small gophers to supercharge his penis lazor! LIBERAL PENIS LAZORS! THERE AIN'T NO JESUS ABOUT THAT!" They'll break up each of their random, idiotic thoughts with a McDonald's McDouble out of their designer (well, QVC said they were designer) purses. The purses will be transparent by the sheer amount of lard and fat leaking through, causing the shiatty Malaysian dye to drip on the floor for one of their never-had-a-chance children to lick up and trip out.

Yeah, the Republican convention will be grand. It'll be like the Maury Povich audience, only with less dignity.

So, in other words, the RON PAUL fans decided to be a part of the establishment GOP in hopes of doing the exact opposite of what the GOP wants and now they're crying like little babies because the GOP is not giving them what they want?

It's almost as though they have no idea how party politics works.

I'm shocked. Absolutely shocked.

The only reason they're getting any attention at all is because they correctly perceive a lack of true backing among the current candidate, and incorrectly see this as a chance to let Mr. Always-Last Candidate in. But they do showcase Romney's lack of enthusiasm among voters along with the Republican Party's sad attempts to regain power from the yokels.

Sounds about right. It seems to me, from my subjective standpoint, that Republicans are even less enthusiastic for Romney than Democrats were for Kerry.

The question on my mind is: Will RONPAUL supporters hold their noses and vote for Romney in order to try and oust Obama, or will they stick to their idealogy of zero compromise and write in RONPAUL?

Also, how many do they number, and will a loss of their support actually make a difference to camp Romney in November?

Probably quite a few of the RONPAULites aren't even really Republicans, are they? There seems to be quite a bit of bleed-over from libertarians (god knows why, he's not one), and even Democrats. So, those will probably sit out, or vote for someone else. The actual Republicans will go for Romney, although turnout might not be great.

they will find ways to throw out the Paul folks and any other dissenters because if they don't the behind the scenes money guys would biatch big time. those secret PACs aren't going to flush a billion dollars by starting with a comedy convention.

and that daily caller asshole won't be spouting off either. he'll be submitting written questions that the candidate might answer if his handlers can figure out a safe one.

Arizona politics? Let me tell you about two Arizona senators.

Barry Goldwater.
Tied to directly to the Mafia in Arizona. Called a lawyer 4 or 5 times the day a newspaper reporter was blown to bits in Phoenix. The lawyer Barry called hired the killers who murdered Don Bolles, that investigative journalist who wrote stories about Kemper Marley, Barry Goldwater's Mafia buddy.

John McCain. You remember Kemper Marley? Marley had a Mafia-connected guy do time in prison for him. That connected felon was award the largest liquor distributorship west of the Mississippi even though it was against the law for a convicted felon to hold a liquor distributorship. The Mafia guy's name was Jim Hensley. John McCain worked for Hensley, a convicted felon connected to the Mafia. John McCain also married the daughter of his boss. Maybe you've heard of her. Cindy McCain, the woman who wanted to be First Lady.

Yeah. Arizona politics stinks.

About my post above, the lawyer connected to all the people involved in the murder of Don Bolles was Neal Roberts. Here's a link about his testimony in a trial.

It's very sad that a reporter could be murdered by a crowd that included two Mafia-connected Arizona movers and shakers and two US senators only to see the big boys get away with murder.

*Bzzt*. I'll have to stop you there. RON PAUL is a Republican, through and through. He just usually dresses the usual GOP policies (Tax cuts, deregulation, no gays or abortions) under 'state's rights' bullshiat.

Ah, missed point.

2012-06-16 05:12:25 PM
So let me get this straight, the lawyers for the RPs are going to argue the RNC has to protect the "voting rights" of a handful of people by ignoring the "voting rights" of hundreds of thousands of voters?

I wonder if the lawyer making this argument can do so with a straight face?

What is it with the RPs that makes them completely unable to function in reality? It isn't like if somehow this lawsuit is successful that they are going to change anyone's mind and convince them to change their vote to Ron Paul.

Hell, for that, I'll go TWO months.

I'd rather just set down documents of her accepting the stuff she considered evil like social security and medicare. Would get more people angry at her than at me pinching a loaf.

Alright, but I'll only go one month for the documents.

I think you need to just add sanity, critical thinking, reasonableness, decency, and "anybody that isn't a stark-raving lunatic that spouts our absurd bullshiat ad nauseum" to the list so you can be done with it. Then take a rest, you've put a lot of work into maintaining that thing and I say you've earned yourself a beer.

Or vote Libertarian. Oh but the guy who is actually the Libertarian candidate is ACTUALLY a libertarian not a Neo-confederate like Ron Paul so they won't actually do that. Because he doesn't want to make official religions and ban the gays like Ron Paul does.

Remember how Robertson pulled a big coup in 1988? "No, I don't", you say? That's the same way you will remember this convention.

I remember in 92 how the over reach by Pat Robertson and his culture war helped Clinton.

Lagging in the polls by double digits to the Clinton-Gore team after a successful Democratic Convention, and with Ross Perot temporarily out of the race, the Republican Party worked hard to rally its base of social conservatives. Pat Buchanan's opening night "Culture War" speech argued that a great battle of values was taking place in the United States. Republican National Committee chairman Rich Bond (referring to Democrats) claimed that "we are America, they are not America

Am I the only one getting tired of private political parties being mistaken for public (government) entities?

I mean, apart from them writing legislation ensuring we only have two functional parties. It took them 200 years to get that legislation nailed down.

Even a private body has contractual obligations that should be met between members.

It could force them to change the tally of many votes back to Ron Paul like they were cast.

eddiesocket: I wish. This is all sound and fury, signifying nothing. Romney will win the nomination without incident.

Maybe. But unless the GOP just straight out murders a statistically significant minority of the delegates, they are going to have to do something to appease the Paultards - we are, after all, talking about a group known for showing their asses at all times, and there is no way they can turn the cameras off for the entire convention ("for the third night straight, we are experiencing technical difficulties and can only show you a blank screen!"). So, the GOP will have to do something to make them happy: personally, I assume there will be a plank in the platform reading "N*ggers are property!"

And the Democrats should drag along a member of the "Ron Paul Is The True Messiah" Brigade to every news show they get invited to during the time-period of the convention. Introduce him/her as "a true and dedicated Republican", pull the pin, and walk away - having a "Republican" go all frothing psycho about the evil of Romney would be a marvelous piece of performance art by the Dems.

It has already gone beyond winning without incident.

New duly elected members have been thrown to the floor by the police in an illegal action brought about by the losers. Fingers have been broken.

When your own party can't play by its own rules, among its own members, something needs to be done. It is time to try and salvage what is left or move on.

StokeyBob: Even a private body has contractual obligations that should be met between members.

Considering you can join and leave the organization at will without either paying dues or suffering penalties, I don't think you can claim contractual damages because they did things you didn't like. The average person has more formal ties to the friends of their friends than they do to a political party, yet I would like to see you successfully convince a judge the friends of friends owe you for buying a car without accepting your input. Ultimately, letting people who go fill out a card at the local DMV vote for their private organization's leader is a social convention - it binds the GOP exactly as much as they choose it to. The GOP could quite legally just declare Romeny their nominee by fiat tomorrow; they don't because it would be a PR disaster*, but they can and Paultards would have to pound sand.

* That said, it might be the lesser evil of letting the Nutter Brigade get national airtime on the GOP's dime.

At this point I wouldn't put it past the GOP to, the minute Romney's nomination is official, declare the RON PAUL contingent to be protesters who are committing a felony by protesting too close to someone who has Secret Service protection.

I don't think it's likely, mind you, but I wouldn't put it past them.
