Hehe...I wonder if this will force Romney to pick Rubio. That would be awesome. Obama dictating Romney's campaign choices.

If Obama is smart, he'll hammer home that it was Rubio's plan and call it a compromise between the democrats and the tea party.

Probably not in this announcement, per se. But I'm sure he'll twist that knife over the next week.

gilgigamesh: Grand_Moff_Joseph: gilgigamesh: Interesting. Limbaugh just made a dismissive sideswipe of Rubio, and is now toting Jindal as the "incarnation of Reagan".

Very interesting.

I bet that by the end of the day, they start partly blaming Rubio for the whole thing, especially when it kills GOP's hopes with Latinos.

That's what I am thinking. Rubio is going under the bus. I think that's Obama's plan; to get him off the short list for VP.

You don't think its possible that Obama is just following through on previous statements that he was going to se executive orders a whole lot more because he can't get anything out of congress? Sure it makes a Rubio VP choice dicey for Romney. Nice bonus. First and foremost this is smart policy and an excellent use of OE.

palladiate: Grand_Moff_Joseph: - April 23, 2012: The Pew Hispanic Center announced that net migration from Mexico to the United States had stopped and possibly even reversed. The center noted that from 2005 to 2010, about 1.4 million Mexicans immigrated to the United States, and about 1.4 million Mexican immigrants and their U.S.-born children moved from the United States to Mexico.

How sad is it that Mexico looks better than the US for low-income employment?

I suspect that much of the Republican base would do well there. Far less government spending. What if we deport one ignorant redneck for each Mexican we naturalize who wants to go to school and learn job skills?

I think this actually puts Rubio at the bottom of choices. Romney's already having to run against better access to healthcare after pushing Romneycare, he can't have his Veep choice running against Hispanics getting better treatment after pushing Dream Act Lite.

LOL, he's going to sue the WH for using powers granted to them in the constitution and by Congress - namely to issue directive to federal agencies.

Have fun with that Mr. King.

He can just say "I didn't even compromise. I implemented Tea Party policy, and they reject it."

haha. Nice.

It'll be especially funny if those rumors about Rubio being a VP selection are true. Force Romney to condemn his own VP's policy.

Romney's unfavorable number with independents is somewhere around 47%. Stuff like this forces Romney to pander to the GOP base, which doesn't exactly score him points with moderates and independents... Which is where this election is going to be won.

If it means better welders, more competent contractors, and more taquerias, I'm totally ok with it too. I got so tired of doing welding inspection on retard redneck welders. Don't tell me you've been welding 20 years and hand me this crap. That Mexican kid did six times as many welds in the last four hours and didn't fail a single one. Plus he can read a freaking welding diagram.

Actual racist Haley Barbour earlier today:

"I believe we are very lucky compared to our European friends and allies, that their neighbors to the south who want to come in to get work despise their way of life, are many radicalized terrorists," he said. "What we have coming into our country to work on our side are Christians, family-oriented entrepreneurial and by and large work, really, really hard."

This is an honestly great thing. I don't give a frogdamn about the politics behind it, this is a bill to help law abiding citizens become tax payers and useful members of society, instead of a drain on the prisons and social service networks.

The only thing this COSTS us is federal education money, which should be tripled anyway.
