I think this actually puts Rubio at the bottom of choices. Romney's already having to run against better access to healthcare after pushing Romneycare, he can't have his Veep choice running against Hispanics getting better treatment after pushing Dream Act Lite.

I was just having a bit of fun. But should Rubio tweek his policy enough I could see Romney running with it and saying it was his position all along. Like saving the automakers.

Romney's unfavorable number with independents is somewhere around 47%. Stuff like this forces Romney to pander to the GOP base, which doesn't exactly score him points with moderates and independents... Which is where this election is going to be won.
