I was thinking the same thing, but only for a second. They don't strike me as that clever. Well... it would be a pretty dirty campaign trick and they are good at that. Hmmmm...

I think we can agree that they never intended to let the automatic cuts actually happen. Considering Obama has caved to almost all of their demands, it was a wise move on their part. These cuts aren't going to happen and we all know it. They'll find a way. The spice must flow.

Of course it isn't just auto workers. The unemployed will simply "find" new jobs when you cut off their benefits, too. Jobs that allow them to care for their families. In the same Rock Candy Mountain where they do "welfare reform".

But defense cuts? No, those will result in intolerable financial losses to the community AND instantly open our borders to all the columns of Al Queda tanks and illegals with voter ID cards and anchor babies.

I'm pretty sure if we just shifted a percentage of the money we spent on the defense budget to social programs, infrastructure, education or alternative energy, most of these guys that would be laid off would have no problems using their intellect to get a job.

We'll just cut education, infrastructure and veteran's benefits to substitute like always.
