I doubt it. It's a press release to add leverage against Russia. The plans existed before and are updated constantly to current information.

No, it's 6. They had to scratch the one that had the 10th Mountain Division taking DC because of the goddam traffic on I-95. It's like a natural defensive barrier. The 82nd has to fly in.

No. It's always been this way, we had plans for invading Canada in the 1920's. Did we expect to ever have to do so? No. It's just what militaries do.

Hawaii is 3500 miles from Japan. If they could make that trip it would get them 2000 miles from the US mainland if they decided to land troops and make it a base. Not something we wanted to have happen.

Aside from the sneak attack thingy which made it serious business.

No. Neither Japan nor Germany had the ability to sustain an invasion into the US. Plus, by the time the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor (which was not the US), we had been fighting their ally the Germans in the Atlantic for six months, and the bombing of Japanese troops in China was imminent. Kinda hard to say that we weren't acting aggressively.

You won't convince the "US is always evil" crowd.

Oh, and this.

Never mind that during Pearl, our Navy was like totally pwnd. And Japan totally knew that. And they sure as hell didn't jump on any plans to take advantage of that spurred on by Germany. No. That never happened.

Revisionist history is revisionist.

The ships they sank there were all on the verge of being decommissioned. And clear warnings of the attack were ignored. Roosevelt just wanted an excuse to enter the war. Plus farking with Japan's access to rubber, oil and steel was viewed as aggression by *us*.

In any event Hawaii was illegally annexed by the US.
