Well, they are Asian-esque for eating edamame for lunch at their school on 12/7.

Bhasayate: thurstonxhowell: Bhasayate: In all fairness, my wife is Filipino. Some people think she's black, sometimes they think she's Mexican. And she's relatively light skinned. It can happen!

Does she often carry a sign that says "Filipino" when she's mistaken for black or Mexican? This picture did essentially that.

Those Asian kids aren't carrying around signs saying their Mexican, though. They are ON a sign intended to be effective for a Mexican audience. That's a bit different. And they didn't make the sign. Obviously, someone who can't tell whether a this group of people is Asian or Mexican made the sign.

The image was tagged with "Asian, Asians, Asia" etc.

The Spanish-language site, which is linked to prominently from the main RNC site, on Thursday also featured a blog post on its homepage with the mangled title "How to cease locks the loss in ladies - suggested ways."

I tried to find this derp-fest, but it has since been taken down, and I'm not seeing the option for the Google cached copy. Anyone got a link? I don't know why I can't get Google to work right in their own friggin' browser...

WhyteRaven74: As for the sailing abilities of the Polynesians, this map marks Easter Island aka Rap Nui. Polynesians got sweet potatoes there from over in South America. And this map shows both Easter Island and one of the larger Cook Islands. Where Europeans found sweet potatoes when they first arrived. Note the distance from the Cook Islands to both New Zealand and Hawaii.

And for the fun of it, the red A here marks the Society Islands where Hawaiians and New Zealanders come from. The Society Islands were inhabited for centuries, dating back to at the latest the middle of the first century CE. And yeah Polynesians could sail so well they could easily hit such small islands out in the Pacific and travel back and forth.

The whole argument here about coast hugging water travelers compared to sea faring is amusing to me. It's a persistent myth that the ancient peoples only hugged the coast when they hit the water. It's only recently that some anthropologists are beginning to bow to archaeology in regards to whether the ancient Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians hugged the Mediterranean coast or not. Archaeology is showing that they didn't simply hug the coast.

DNA is showing, as the above map showed, that humans hit the Americas way further back than has been assumed over the past century. Archaeology is backing up that assertion plus sea faring peoples from Europe arrived before Clovis and Asians such as the Chinese hit South America over the past few centuries.

I think we'll continue to find new artifacts that will challenge what has been taught in schools but myths die hard.

Here's more stuff on their ridiculously incomprehensible "blogs". It's another stpry about the Aisan pic, but has more details of the other crap:

"How To cease locks the loss In ladies - suggested Ways [sic]" read one typical post headline. From the entry:

"Indiscriminate locks the loss is among the nagging wellbeing dangers we endure from while in the current time. Another post headlined "adcarnalityed badly in creating an ergonomic ambiance," was entirely incomprehensible:

WhyteRaven74: GAT_00: . The entirety of the Americas was populated at nearly the same time

Actually it wasn't. Though what a lot of us were taught in grade school has been inverted. Turns out the Inuit instead of being the first arrivals are the most recent. As in just barely made it here before the land bridge went away. Other native Americans come from before they got here. Indeed based on genetic studies those in South America got here first. As for sea travel, that explains Pacific Islanders from Samoans to Hawaiians to the Maori of New Zeland etc. They're all closely related and only way they could have gotten where they got is with boats. Turns out Thor Heyerdahl was right all along. Just took geneticists to convince the anthropologists he was right. And that they wasted 40 plus years.

Chompsky also set the study of language back 40 years with his innate grammar theory. god damn ocial scientists speculating without real data or hypothesis testing.

Not only that, it would invalidate a lot of the foundations of "First Nations" law, which assumes that the current residents of the land (prior to europeans) was the "First." Kennewick Man discovery was already a shot across the bow on that, and First Nations wasted no legal resource in squashing all scientific access.

If First Nations was nothing but the conquerers who prevailed and were left standing when Europeans first arrived, that screws up a lot of convenient narratives about how deprived and sad it was that we took their land. When "First Nations" may well have done the same damn thing to earlier tribes who were already in North America.

We seem to have been the first that used alcohol though. Alcohol and smallpox, together in victory.

Fun Fact: when know the Polynesians didn't have compasses or any real system of celestial navigation. SO how DID they navigate long distances? Apparently the elders in the Canoe was able to dead reckon position and speed, and even find sea currents uising nothing more than the natural pendulumn that nature provides..aka: his balls. And no I'm not joking. Though the skill has largely died out, some old timers have been able to demonstrate the technique to scientists

RexTalionis: deadcrickets: Archaeology is backing up that assertion plus sea faring peoples from Europe arrived before Clovis

Where, exactly, does the Archaeology back up this assertion?

In the Cactus Hill, VA among others. There they've found clear evidence of a human settlement in the area that goes back way before Clovis to the Soultrean period (the Va finds have been dated to about 17,000 years ago as opposed to Clovis tech which is about 13000 years old)
It's Hypothesized that the area was settled by Europeans who follwed the edges of the ice across the Atlantic and settled in VA area. The culture is beieved to have been large wiped out by a the asteriod impact blamed for the extinction of the clovis culture in North America, or by flooding at the end of the ice age.

I will admit that north american archaeology is not my speciality so I wiki'd Cactus Hill. It said that the site is still associated with Clovis culture but that there is a "controversial" theory that suggests the site is much older. It was referred to as the Solutrean hypothesis, which I had never heard of. Looked that up, turns out that some archaeologists believe that migration from Ice Age Europe to the Americas occured before the crossing of the Bering Sea by asians.

I get the sense this is not a well-accepted hypothesis.

Saturday's Warrior: For my part, it touches my heart to see the way the RNC has been inspired by God in this way. It seems as if the person responsible for crafting these ads was truly in tunes with the promptings of the spirit. The Asian origins of the people of central America have been well documented for nearly two hundred years. Is it POSSIBLE that the descendants of Lehi's family (to say nothing of the brother of Jared's people) were contemporaries of other Asians who arrived by way of the Bering Straight as well, but it would be a historical travesty to make this into political mudslinging and overlook the plain and simple truth of the Lamanite origins of Central and South American people. I know with every fiber of my being that this has been revealed to us in these latter days.

I would like to bear my testimony that I know the RNC is true, and the only true political organization on the face of the earth today. By abiding by its principles, we can become closer to our Heavenly Father and share in family life through the eternities. It is my hope that you will all come to know this, by the power of the Holy Ghost. I say these things to you in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.
