Meh, half of the event was open to the press.

2012-06-14 06:33:18 PM
And I'm sure his speech will be about the evils of the liberal media.

2012-06-14 06:34:34 PM
That doesn't sound ironic. That sounds like a conqueror standing in the capitol building of his enemy, proclaiming, "WE WON."

Unless he's telling lies, why would the press be excluded? Mitt would never lie.

Only of note in light of the candidate's continued shunning of the (real) press in general.

Apparently he'll Face The Nation Sunday.

Who cares if he's telling lies or not? They're not going to call him on it.

"most anti-investment

...meaning capital gains should be taxed more than 13%.

anti-business

...meaning there should be some regulation on businesses.

"anti-jobs series of policies in modern American history."

....anti-jobs, as opposed to the practice of destroying American companies and sending their jobs to China and India so your stock options can be raised by 3%..

But after the speech, Romney hung around for some up-close conversation with some members of the executives' group. That meeting...was closed to press.

So the entire speech as open to the press except his private conversations with a couple VIPs? Sounds to me like subby has his panties in a wad because annoying reporters weren't allowed to go paparazzi-style, lingering over Romney's shoulder to hear every last utterance that he had in private conversation.

Good. I'll be glad when we can get rid of the press. They're not needed, do nothing but tout a liberal agenda, and get in the way of the police when civil disturbances are occuring. I wouldn't mind seeing the Constitution amended to get rid of this pesky nuisance. If nothing else, it should be illegal for the press to write or report stories that portray military members in a negative light. It is infuriating to see people who are defending our freedoms get smeared by liberal hacks.

President Obama is set to address the event at 1:45 p.m. ET, while Gov. Mitt Romney is scheduled to address workers and supporters at his own campaign event at a factory in Cincinnati, Ohio just five minutes later, at 1:50 p.m. ET.

Wrong! They are not allowed be there because Mitt is going to tell the truth. The last thing Mitt wants is the press reporting on what his real plans are.

Instead of jeering, someone should have hastily thrown up a sign that said "Honk if you support Obama."

President Obama finally and quietly accepted his "transparency" award from the open government community this week - in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House on Monday.

The secret presentation happened almost two weeks after the White House inexplicably postponed the ceremony, which was expected to be open to the press pool.

It's standard practice to hold events at a museum dedicated to the press and then ban the press from attending?

Hell yeah he would. He'd be all like "check out the truck nuts biatches, I only paid 13.8% marginal tax last year. I'm a job creator, look at me creating jobs for my campaign team here. Well there's Billy, Johnny, little Casey those folks didn't have jobs last year and they do now 'cause of me. No, the press isn't here so you guys don't have to ask why there's no Jerome or Leroy on my staff. It's ok. [Line 10 {insert} Laughter]"

And then he'd be all like "keg party in quad dude. But I'm not gonna drink any on account 'cause I'm Mormon but you boys have fun alright." [Goes Home at 9:00pm as programmed to do so, Anne hits the off button, no not that one sickos]"
