momentary threadjack...from the article:

It has been said that a woman will take a bullet when it comes to her babies. At Helen Woodward Animal Center, veterinarian Dr. Oba discovered that this extends to animals and people alike when she removed a BB bullet from the head of new mommy feline, Cindy. The cat, found hovering over her new born babies, had been exposed to more than just nature's elements in her quest to protect them. She had taken a literal bullet and refused to leave their sides.

as a responsible cat lover and gun owner, this kind of journalistic malpractice pisses me off.

1st: the cat had no choice to "take a bullet" it was shot at by some sociopathic prick.

2nd: a bb is a projectile, but NOT a bullet.

3rd and finally: "I like to think every mother would do the same," said Customer Service Lead Shannon Bush. "She certainly is a role model to mothers everywhere."

my kittehs don't take crap from anyone. they are taught the weaver shooting stance, proper trigger discipline, and are prepared to pop a cap in the ankle (or crotch) of anyone threatening their non existent babbies!

Buddy the says, "Hey Suzy! How YOU doin'?"

What he lacks in modesty he makes up for in charm. :)

A lot of us guys on Caturday secretly envy Buddy.
He needs a fan page on Facebook.

spinach gunk: Thank you so much akimbotoo, Salem Witch, Sickapie, Sherpa18, Yobbery, Debby7813, laulaja, professional_vampire! I got to meet my new nephew this evening. He is wonderful. A very, very good baby. He didn't even cry when I held him (most babies find me upsetting for some reason, lol), so I just held him and held him until my arms got tired (which was like, 9 minutes -- man, I need to start working out if I want to do any babysitting in the near future)! :)

His name is Stanley. He's the bee's knees. :)
[i870.photobucket.com image 640x480]

And to stay on topic, my sister's cat, Hazel, who is in for a big surprise tomorrow afternoon, all going well!
[i870.photobucket.com image 640x440]

It's a happy day. I don't get to say that very often. It's nice to be able to share a little of it with you guys. :)

Stanley is so handsome :-)

James72: I got news a couple of weeks ago that the kittens were born. She sent me pictures earlier this week. They are only 3-weeks old in the pictures, so I have another 5 weeks before I can bring them home.

Fark, meet Sophia and Alexander...

smadge1: here's one of the strange cats that's been hanging around here. There's a brown cat with a bell on too, but it's much too skittish for me to see, let alone photograph.

Of course, Priscilla jumped straight into my clean washing the moment I brought it inside.

The Ice Queen: So, I'm looking at the kitty and puppy names and we have some different ones. Kind of curious how they were named. I'll start

Rocky - The Rock (and she was solid like a rock in her younger years).
Diego - Ice Age
Cosmo - not named by me
Stormy - he's a black cat and I found right before a nasty storm blew in
Isis - because I wanted an Egyptian cat :)
Norbert - technically Norberta because with all of her fur, the rescue thought she was a he!
Robert - dad named him, looks like a bobcat with a long tail
India - named by rescue
George - because all I could think of was "I'm going to love him and pet him and call him George" when I found him by the side of the road.

Buddy and Baby, male and female siblings, our first cats as a couple. Names were because we figured we'd end up calling them that despite any different names
boots came to us prenamed, because he has white boots and mitts on a black background. Duff and Izzy, male female siblings and offspring of Boots and Baby, and their second litter (boots is now fixed! No more kittens!) is Joey (reminds me of the friends character) sylvia (gray kitten) mojo(austin powers fan) and gaga (gat friend has claimed her)
