In before people complain about taxpayer money. This is a fun story, a quick boost for morale, wasn't all that expensive when you compare it to other things the army spends on. Like that, for example, a single drone missile costs $70000.

Very cool stuff.

Yeah, it SOUNDS like lighthearted boost for morale, until you consider the reality that this could ignite a baking goods cold war. Now that we've unveiled a cupcake tank, do you think those filthy ruskies are gonna sit back? Hell no, they've probably already got a brownie-based fighter jet in production as we speak. Then, how long will it be before the middle east obtains yellow cake?

I guess that's the perfect thing for tankers. 19K isn't just their MOS, it's how many calories they consume per day.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

Cup-a-tank, cup-a-tank, army man.
Bake me a tank as fast as you can;
Cover it with cupcakes both brown and green,
Load it with more cupcakes, and shoot 'em at me.

MMMmmmm... I love Georgetown cupcakes. I was in there in uniform a couple weeks ago and someone in line ahead of me paid for my order.

So tasty.

One of the characters has a 'party cannon' that works identically to the one in the article, except that it can also optionally fire confetti.

Well, it will go well with our new F-32 lighting II fighter jets. I just hope it costed a few billion dollars less.

When I saw the tank fire I was hoping for something a little more devastating. Like a cupcake to the face that could knock someone on their ass. That would be funny.

I like to think of them as guaranteeing that a large amount of people will never be cold or hungry again.

\Or entirely in one place

Yes, but those people will be warm for the rest of their life thanks to every gun that is made, and every rocket launched from every warship.

It's win-win.

It's all nice and fun and all, but JESUS what a waste of eggs, milk, butter, flour, and sugar. I'm sure there are some homeless and hungry people a few miles away who would have loved a simple cake, or you know, bread to eat or milk to drink.

Hey! Nothing is stopping those homeless people from enlisting. If they want to be part of the battle-dodging, nappy-wearing, I'd-rather-have-a-cup-of-tea-than-charge-stark-naked-at-Jerry crowd, that's their problem.

Some people... some people like cupcakes exclusively, while myself, I say
There is naught nor ought there be nothing so exalted on the face of god's grey
Earth as that prince of foods... the muffin!
