enry: I'd just like to say that I liked the fight scenes of Sucker Punch (which was, fortunately a majority of the movie). If that was all it was, it'd be 3 stars easy.

I enjoyed it when I watched it, made me respect Zack Snyder a little more. I thought Ol' Snyder was just having some fun and playing a game of "How can I be more over the top than the last scene? Hmmmmm NUKE TRAIN AND BEATLES COVER!!! WOOOOO!!!". Then one of my co-workers told me he considered it a serious work on par with The Godfather or something. Now I just feel sorry for him.

Still had fun watching it. Jenna Malone in burlesque outfits, what's not to like?

GoodyearPimp: This raises several questions. First, that's (roughly) 2 million tickets sold. Second, and more alarmingly, for a movie with what I assume is little in terms of CGI and a few bucks for the "Jill" makeup, how do you spend $80M?

How much are movie tickets where you live. I know they've gone up in price but 150 million/2 million = $75. That must be a sweet ass theater.

The awful cover of "Sweet Dreams" at the start of the film?

Well, in theory if you could raise more money than it cost to put on a production, and it bombed real hard you could pocket the difference and make quite a sum of money.

It is really sad. What ever happened to the Adam Sandler of Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Wedding Singer? Heck, even Waterboy? He actually had some legitimate good movies back in the day.

Being generous, he's really only had one passable movie in the past 10 years (Funny People), and he hasn't come even close to recapturing the magic of the stupid comedies from early in his career.

Mugato: GoodyearPimp: Jack and Jill's box office take: $149,673,788, on a budget of $79M.

This raises several questions. First, that's (roughly) 2 million tickets sold. Second, and more alarmingly, for a movie with what I assume is little in terms of CGI and a few bucks for the "Jill" makeup, how do you spend $80M? I

They didn't. There's no way that movie cost $80mill. Studios bullshiat about their reported budgets.

Eh, it's probably somewhat accurate. Sandler gets paid like $20 to $25 million per movie. Between him, the other actors, director and producers (12 of them, including Sandler!), probably $30 to $35 million was paid out in salaries to fewer than 25 people.

Next, the movie was made through Sandler's production company, so it was probably paid some ridiculous amount of money to develop the script or something BS.

And because the movie is guaranteed to make money, the production was probably really sloppy with all kinds of overruns.

The credits also list a fair number of special effects technicians, so there must have been a bit of CG in the film.

And people are complaining about Tim and Eric?! At least with T&E I know they're purposely making fun of crap life in America.

Sandler is either masterfully trolling and laughing all the way to the bank, or Eddie Murphy farked him up the butt relentlessly, turning Adam into yet another were-turd.

"It'll be a white man's Pluto Nash" should never be anyone's goal.

I saw an ad for this film on TV tonight and they flashed one word reviews for about a tenth of a second each.

"Hilarious"
"Outrageous"
etc.

I think they must have all been from those free magazines they give out at the theatre.

The premise of "That's my Boy", where a young boy knocks up his teacher who is molesting them is a bit uncomfortable. That they make jokes about jokes about how a 15yr old kid is a crappy parent is really past the comfort zone of most people.

I was watching the trailer and the son is talking about how he was a bad dad... and I know the retorts were supposed to be jokes, but it just was too squicky to be funny.

For a group of people mostly found in Sandler movies, they did better than anything Sandler had done just prior to it, and Sandler has done nothing as funny since. That movie has some great characters and lines in it.

/I hate your face

I thought Zohan, and Grown Ups, were both pretty funny. They're sitcom movies. It's 3-5 sitcom episodes crammed into a single serving with a (possibly) more consistent plot, and usually more actual fart jokes.

If you don't run screaming and squealing into the night at the sheer horror those god awful shoes like...Two Fat People Find Love, Two and a Half men, George Lopez is a racist characiture of Latinos, A bunch of people act like they're super-nerds, or that sacred cow Community....then you're a hypocrite.

Of course I'm not going to pay 400$ to see it in theatres, and I'm not going to buy the DVD for 30-50$, I'll probably just rent it. So my definition of terrible is 'do I want my 1$ back'. About half the films I watch I just get bored with, especially the dramas who make it a point that I should be hanging on their every second, when the plots for them are infinitely predictable from the first 10-15 minutes. Stupid comedy shows at least can keep my attention specifically because they know they're amazingly stupid and use that. Zohan was honestly funny to me, as a deliberately stupid and over the top film. Grown ups was predictable and obvious, but it wasn't supposed to be anything else, it was just a simple comedy. Chuck and Larry was funny.

/There is no defense or excuse for Jack and Jill

Of all the Sandler abortion vacuums that have splattered across the screen, nothing comes close to the 35mm of explosive diarrhea known as "Bucky Larson".

This film is pain. There were several moments watching this film where I seriously considered hammering fondue forks into my testicles; anything to distract my brain from the abomination on screen. That this movie was ever made is a crime against humanity.

Sandler's production offices should be nuked from orbit for financing it.

Almost no one got the movie. Women who would've liked what the movie was actually about we're turned off by the advertising and the people who were lured in by the advertising were never going to get or appreciate what was actually going on.

I found out about the movie basically by accident and love it.
