(IGN)   Turns out Lollipop Chainsaw is just like a real high-school cheerleader: Beautiful to look at and fun at the beginning, but the second she opens her mouth you're over it   (ign.com) divider line 58

Olympus Mons: Spending $50 or $60 for games that last maybe 10 or 12 hours, just is not going to happen in this economy

This game is half that long.

First off, IGN reviews are notoriously unreliable. They gave God Hand a 3/10 for Pete's sake.

Second off Lollipop Chainsaw only gets MORE fun as you play. The gameplay is only tiring in the beginning, before you unlock any combos.

Third, the game and dialogue is absolutely hilarious.

Yeah it's short which sucks. But then again it's got more replay value than most other games do these days. Still, if you have to wait for the price to drop to $30 or $20 fine, but do yourself a favor and at least play it at some point.

Rwa2play: whizbangthedirtfarmer: There has not been a game yet that I am willing to spend more than 40-50 bucks on. Even the games I know I will like and have tons of prerelease buzz (Skyrim, Dark Souls), I will wait several months before buying. I would argue that there will be very few people willing to spend 100 bucks on a game, regardless of how great it is. $60 is the mental barrier, and it always has been. I remember buying Street Fighter for Genesis at $60 brand new. It won't change, no matter how great the games are. The only thing they can do is to release a game and DLC it to death.

I wonder where the breaking point is going to be with future games: Release a game w/ 10% of the actual content on the disk and then cajole you into d/ling the rest of it off of their servers for a premium price?

That will be the death of console gaming right there.

I can easily foresee the time when people will buy a game for fifty bucks, get home, complete the first few levels, and then at the boss battle, something coming on the screen that says "enter access code to continue".

That will be the moment I quit gaming altogether.

Yeah, it's an IGN review. The game's actually a lot of fun, and while they're right about the gendered insults from the first boss (and only the first boss), Juliet's scantily-clad, not slutty. There is a difference.

If you like beat-'em-ups, Lollipop Chainsaw's at least worth a look, although it is way too short for a $60 price point to make much sense. It's a great rental.

Anyone tried out the DayZ mod for Arma 2? Now that's my idea of a zombie survival game. Or at least it will be once they work the bugs out.

Foresee? That's how games were when I was growing up! And sometimes you not only needed the cloth map and manual, but also red transparent plastic to see the code.

/My lawn. Off it.
