Why didn't they just tell the police that the car was in the tree and that they were going to call about that. But then the tree fell and the car landed in the driveway.

FTA: During their evaluation of the scene, Gwinnett County police officers discovered that a vehicle in the driveway of the home was stolen.

And just why did the cops decide to "evaluate" a car in the driveway?

Oh, just saw the picture. Never-mind. I know now.

If a tree falls on a car thief's house and no one is there does it make a sound?

A tragedy that will echo through the Keebler community for years to come.

Brilliant idea!

Or..

Claim the car owners came to steal the tree and fled in panic when the tree fell on your hoise, thus leaving their car in your driveway. Then, sue the car owners and the police!

Who is supposed to be the dumbass here? The cops for catching a car thief? The thief for living next to a tree? God for punishing a thief?

But the tree wasn't the whole story.

They didn't catch the car thief. The man was arrested for thief by receipt, which means he bought the car from a thief. They can collar you on that because there was no title to exchange and the buyer had to know that the car was stolen because of this.

They might charge the actual thief with this if he's in possession but they don't have immediate proof of him doing the thievery.

CSB time:

Stupid criminals do stupid things. I had to do a hit and run report where the hit and run vehicle was stolen. The victim said that the car, stolen from a nearby city, had been around the area a lot in the last week. The victim called us back the next night, the car was parked in front of the apartment building. We got the driver behind the wheel and a passenger taken for a concealed weapon. You wouldn't think you should drive a stolen vehicle around for a month, but these people did.

/Stupid criminals are the best.

I'm not sure what's more noteworthy.. this story, or the fact that the Gwinnett Daily Post has its own tag

I'll take credit for that. That's my go-to source every morning for WTF news that gets overlooked by the bigger metro Atlanta networks.

That is just some really bad luck across the board.

So...

Who was it stolen from? Are the police going to return it, no fuss? Or are they just gonna impound it, sell it at auction and run the black guy to jail for buying a stolen car before closing the case by the end of the month?

I must know!

Considering the problems GA has had lately with those tests, that actually is a bit of news.

All you need is a horrible memory and you're set, you can just keep on reading something interesting and never remember how it goes.

But would I be able to remember enough to keep it interesting while I read it?

I imagine The Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nation's isn't especially interesting if you don't remember the last chapter.
