Jesus, I'm liquored up and yammering on about wrestling. Imagine that ...

- verbaltoxin, I enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work. Also, any time I get to watch a Nick Bockwinkel promo is awesome. I've had the pleasure of interviewing Bockwinkel and have met both him and Bobby Heenan. Two of the best workers the business will ever see. Being in and from AWA country, Bock was the first heel I was a fan of. His promos were excellent. He rarely raised his voice and was very logical. The "$500 per punch promo" with Lance Russell is great. Nick's promo starts about 2:45 into this. I also remember a promo of his where he said that while he was sleeping, if you whispered into his ear "1...2..." he'd wake up at 3.

BTW, I need to correct you on why Bock didn't go to the NWA. He was to be offered a run on top there and long story short, the travel for the NWA and what he made there was in the same ballpark as what he was getting from Verne with a better schedule. It was working 3 to 4 nights a week instead of 6 or 7. Not trying to be shiatty here, I remember reading about this or seeing it on a shoot online.

- The problem with wrestling today is that it wants to divorce itself from its past. Professional wrestling has always been a worked competition whether it's an athletic contest or a fight. It used to be that athletes from other sports, mostly football (Dick Afflis, Ernie Ladd, JBL, etc.) blew out a knee or something or needed to supplement their income in the off season. It has "grown" to stories around the competitors. Whatever happened to the top 10 for the World Title or the titles below it. It means nothing now. All of this AJ or Nattie farts or why is Kane there has nothing to do with these worked titles. Kane's entrance looks good on TV... maybe they're using him to garbage up Punk and Bryan and extend it. I don't know.

- Not quite the only reason I watch WWE is because of the FWC.

- I watched some NWA Hollywood tonight. The Pearce/Cabana first blood match. I've said it before, these guys can work. Not the greatest match but both executed the psychology of the match to a T. Whatever happened to checking one's head after being driven into iron?

- see ya farkers later on tonight.

SharkTrager: Praise Cheesus: Oh, the reason Ryberg is facing an endless line of local wrestlers has been revealed: no one on the roster is willing to risk getting into the ring with him. Ryback may be intense, but he's also inexperienced and sloppy. That is a recipe for disaster, considering how thin the ranks are currently.

And watching him powerbomb these jobbers is not going to help. I'm amazed he hasn't hurt someone seriously yet. I actually cringe when he wrestles those little guys. It's as if he does not get that they are real people and not some kind of mannequin.

We had a guy in our promotion, William "Haystack" Calhoun. The man stood 6'1" and weighed in at 600 pounds. His finisher was a jumping splash and he tossed around 225 pound guys like they were toys in the ring. However, there was not a guy in the promotion that refused to work against him, because he actually knew what he was doing. Unlike Vince's "giants", Bill was agile, quick and never injured an opponent.

Why hello there, sorry for not noticing you sooner. It really has been quite a busy day and I have a dinner date soon but I'm glad I could talk to you.

Some people have been checking out Impact wrestling and something called Chikara recently. My chums CM Punk and Daniel Bryan also said something about ROH? Whatever that is. Anyways, I just wanted to make sure you knew about the other alternative out there. The WWE. You see these other organizations are pretty young and tend to not have good tv deals if any. This can lead to some at risk behaviours, in and out of the ring, which really can lead to some nefarious behaviours.

We at the WWE have a strong drug and alcohol policy to ensure that we always have a positive and working environment. Sadly some of the people that we have employed in the past have had to be released. Now if they want we do offer free treatment all on our dime. In fact I am glad to see Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam are doing better.

We are also very proud of our companies initiative on bullying. Truly this is not acceptable to anyone. No matter the age, just because you are bigger and more popular doesn't mean you have the right to humiliate someone. I strongly believe in that. Why just two weeks ago myself and my pal Michael Cole had a good laugh about how bullies never win!

We also are proud partners of the troops. Without them we would never have the freedoms we do. It really is important to respect where our country has been and where it's going. Come see our product, eventually it will be close to you. Our performers are always hustling and love loyal fans.

The WWE universe is waiting, can we count on you?
