If you look at the befores and afters, it sometimes appears that Google is focusing on visually similar details or colors, sometimes in what the perceiver would consider foreground and in other cases what is actually in the background. In other cases I just don't see a connection at all. Lotta folks breaking out their inner-asian, though.

I'd perv on the chicks, but for some reason I have no pics of me and my only option would be my 3DS, and there's no way I'm fumbling through that thing's camera to do something proactive like this. Plus I'm lazy and nobody would care anyway.

This truly has been a wonderful thread and it's fascinating to think about what's truly going on behind the scenes. I'm imagining that Google is storing all of your images in a database along with all of the supposedly visual similar hits and improving their process slowly but analytically to improve it for future use.
