This voter purge in 2000 won George W. Bush the White House.

Even though Florida paid millions to the NAACP on their civil suit against the state (under Jeb Bush) for denying 1000s of African-Americans their right to vote then, why not do it again in 2012? That way, they can squeeze Romney some more electorial votes at no cost to the RNC.

It's only Florida taxpayers' money.

To be fair, Florida specifically is famous for voter fraud, sort of like the running joke about the dead voting in Chicago or Michigan. Not really a party thing so much as a state thing, in most other states the slimy side of electioneering is mostly limited to gerrymandering rather than outright box-stuffing.

So... wait a minute. Non-citizens SHOULD be allowed to vote in a state's elections? Doesn't that disenfranchise people who ARE citizens?

Don't Democrats and Hispanics have a "hidden agenda" by wanting to keep non-citizens on the voter roles?

I have seen my FARK jokes AND those of others word for word on some of the late night shows and also on morning radio. A few years ago, I listened to 'Walton and Johnson' in New Orleans (before it became a Fox News lovin' racial diatribe against blacks and latinos) and you could almost hear FARK's lips move. I especially enjoy seeing my barbs among the 'funniest' in the comments section. Making a joke that more than 8 or 10 FARKers find funny is tough because we have so many cynics and satirist among our numbers. I'm not denying the '1000 monkeys typing' coming up with the same zinger, but let's face it -- people have been stealing other people's jokes since the dawn of time. The world's oldest joke is a fart joke, BTW.

Man, it really was a shame when that happened to Walton and Johnson. It was really funny and clever at one point, and then it just got so hideously racist, misogynistic and all around foul that I couldn't stomach it anymore.

Some jokes are so obvious it's easy to see how they could all come up with it independently. Like the remote control inventor being buried in the couch. EVERYBODY did that one. But most also had another related joke that was unique.

Fallacy of insufficient options.

We want legitimate voters on the roles. The process by which they're allegedly removing illegitimate voters is also removing a disproportionate number of legitimate voters.

You do realize, of course, that excluding legitimate voters is also a form of fraud, right?

Typical. Democrats want everyone who is legally able to vote to be able to vote even if that means a non-citizen might be registered. Republicans want no non-citizen to ever be registered and will do anything possible to prevent that from happening even if it means actual citizens are stripped of their right to vote.

Perhaps if there were some evidence of the non-citizens actually casting votes people might be more interested in supporting the voter purge. Instead, what there is evidence of is massive purges of legal voters who happen to be in demographics likely to support democrats.

Genevieve Marie: Wonder what happened to those guys.

They got older and bitter. They succumbed to the same fate as many old white guys. They yearned for their youth. They feared change. They found it easy to blame everyone else for their own perceptions as to what is wrong in this world. And there has always been an audience that feeds on hate and negativity. Genevieve Marie I know you are a staunch feminist, so please don't be angry, but I have always thought you were one of the most beautiful people not only on FARK, but in the entire Crescent City. Not to worry though, Mrs. Dahnkster, my imaginary wife, is more woman than I can ever hope to love.

I've seen it happen quite a few times before. Perhaps not in this case, but Daily Show writers have admitted to being Farkers, so I'm sure some borrowing goes on. And when Dick Cheney got his heart transplant, they used the Fark headline "Dick Cheney receives heart plant," on The Daily Show.
