Exactly. Romey says whatever he pleases, changing positions from one day to the next. Meanwhile, Obama gets his jokes 'fact-checked'.

MFL: No. I'm blaming Obama because he doesn't know what the fark he's doing. His presidency is a farking disaster because he has no leadership ability and his economics are assbackwards.

Obama is responsible for the sins of the banking industry for the last decade? For the global recession/depression? For Portugal, Ireland, Spain and Greece?

The idea that one man, the President, is somehow responsible for the global recession is just, well, ludicrous.

That you try to blame it all on Obama makes me feel really bad for you as a person. I hope you come to your senses. You inability to see past "it's all Obama's fault" really is just plain sad.

Garet Garrett: Bilaterally flawed, yes. But bilaterally prejudiced? I don't think so.

Their "Lie of the Year" was the statement that "The Paul Ryan Plan would Destroy Medicare as we know it." Their rationale was that, although the Paul Ryan plan would destroy medicare as we know it, he still called it "Medicare" therefore the statement accurately describing the plan was the "Lie of the Year."

They stopped trying to even pretend to not cover for the GOP a looong time ago.

That Barack Obama is such a kidder.

The private sector is doing better than the government sector, i.e. note massive layoffs of teachers and other government service personnel across the nation, like here in Alabama.

Yeah! Why didn't we ever hear anything about Obama's radical black separatist preacher or how he was pallin' around with terrorists? The Liberal Media was conspiring to put a Kenyan Socialist in charge!

Did you hear that spin from the LSM? Ooops. You didn't. You heard them making excuses.

You farking obnoxious, lying piece of shiat. I really don't want fark to turn into an echo chamber, but I've listened to your horseshiat for months and months now, and you never have anything to offer but pre-approved talking points and circular reasoning. I can get that just about anywhere.

I'm amazed how much Romney lies. Don't the Republicans possess any sense of honor and integrity?

Lying is part of campaigning. It is not an attribute of only one party. What I find worrisome about Romney (and other liars like him) is he can't keep his stories straight. A sure tell of a lousy con man.

You're confused. Lying is not part of campaigning. Promises are part of campaigning.

Making up stuff is lying. For example, Mitt was against the US auto industry bailout, saying he preferred they go bankrupt. Now he claims he was for their bailout since it worked so good.

And no, I won't vote Republican, in spite of your mistaken claim all parties' candidates lie.

What does that have to do with anything?

You can't both scream "shrink government!!!" which is REALLY "lay of American workers!!!", then complain that the unemployment level isn't lower AND blame it on Obama. It's pretty simple, really. Not a difficult concept to understand, in my opinion.

Journalism can include highly biased writing, so long as the writer is being open about his or her biases. Much of the work done by TPM and Maddow is good journalism. Radley Balko's work on police overreach is good journalism.

I DO feel that it is OK for the challenger to run based on the incumbent's record. You real do have to run on the 'This is why I'm better than the other guy' platform. That said, you bring up great points, the President doesn't really get "equal time" to defend against attacks, and the other guy has nothing to do all day but plan attacks. Also, lies and distortions are unacceptable. Attack your opponent's record based on the truth, and actually fact check your attacks, it's the least these asshats can do.

As you are, for Romney's lies.

wut? you are lying.

Oh grow up.

You claimed I am making excuses for Romney's lies. You are lying.
What Romney lie are you referring to? Please be specific. Or are you lying again?

I believe, in this case, he is confusing "excuses" for "obfuscation". The article points out that Romney's camp is creating such a flurry of false information that it has become impossible to separate out any truth and you reply with "Derp, derp 2008" (the obfuscation) Diogenes, if I am reading correctly, took this as you "making excuses" for Romney's strategy.

One could argue that you are making the excuse for his lies that it is okay because "Obama and the LSM did it first" or whatever point you were trying to make. However, if you're not making excuses for Romney, then why does it matter what happened in 2008?

Let's make this simple. Do you or do you not feel that the statements in the article are factual and why? References to what happened in previous elections are not germane.

Oh. Sorry. I meant the media. I've talked with people in the industry who admit that it really is about the ratings. This is why they make the news, not report it. This is why they want a close race, not an honest one.

The one thing that has ever made me suspicious of conservatives-THEY LIE-. When the truth works better-THEY LIE-. Even when they are right (sometimes they are)-THEY LIE. Now Republicans are jumping on the lie your ass off bandwagon. This really sucks, because it is hard to give someone a vallid point, and they do have them, when it is accentuated, and accessorized by CRAP! When did things get so far out of balance in the Republican party?

"Telling the Truth" and "Using Facts" are liberal ideals.

A conservative can't be criticized for not acting like a liberal. Liberals however are open to conservative lies about how they are not living up to their liberal ideals.

Asked Romney on ropeline about his firefighter comments he responded, "What? Oh I'm not going to talk about that."
