I always wondered what they called Captain Hook before Peter Pan cut off his hand.

Captain Hand?

Captain Hook must remember
Not to scratch his toes.
Captain Hook must watch out
And never pick his nose.
Captain Hook must be gentle
When he shakes your hand.
Captain Hook must be careful
Openin' sardine cans
And playing tag and pouring tea
And turnin' pages of his book.
Lots of folks I'm glad I ain't--
But mostly Captain Hook!

Clearly, names are destiny in Neverland. Which leads me to suspect that Peter Pan stayed young forever because he didn't want to grow up and take his inevitable job in a diner kitchen.

what if he was like Mr Igoe in Innerspace? Would his name then be specified by the attatchment?

Perhaps Hook was his surname and the alligator incident was purely serendipitous.

A lot of good meat on a gator and it would only be fair if he got a little taste.

FTA: A 63-year-old airboat captain lost his left hand when an alligator bit it off, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The victim's name is Wallace Weatherholt of Captain Doug's Everglades Tours on State Road 29.

FWC officials said a criminal investigation is pending. It is a second-degree misdemeanor to feed alligators.

Come on now, FWC. Captain Weatherholt wasn't feeding the gator as much as giving it a hand up in life.

Lols because feeding gators is highly illegal, makes them aggressive towards humans.

Mr. Hand. He taught at Ridgemont High until he snapped and raped Phoebe Cates.

Submitter, the animal featured in the James Barrie stories was clearly a crocodile, but the article specifies that it was an alligator that bit off the man's hand. While the alligator is a member of the Crocodilia order, the two animals are of two entirely separate taxonomic families. But, alas, school is out for the summer and therefore the rest of us have to contend with the contributions of grade schoolers.

How is this good news? Is a tiny casket maker rubbing his (two) hands in gllee?

Is the allegation that the chewed up, swallowed hand can be reattached?

It being Florida, I wonder if he'll try it with the other hand?

Really? Seems pretty clear to me - as in "one does not commonly get one's hand bitten off without teh st00pid being involved."

Here gator, gator...nice marshmallow for you....nice gatorrrr ahhhhhhh

If you ever been on those air boats. it's a fun ride....but they feed the gators marshmallows so they get nice and close so that the tourists can see them up close. Now the gator who was doing what he was "trained" to do has paid with his life because of STOOPID people!! Let's give the stupid people a hand....oh wait nm

Captain's Bucket List

422. Hand feed an alligator.
423. Play Captain Hook in amateur production of Peter Pan.
424. Have bespoke alligator shoes made.
425. Have steel prosthetic hand installed.
426. Play "The Claw" in Broadway production of Inspector Gadget.
427. Have white angora cats made into fur throw pillows.
428. Play Cruella de Ville in live action remake of 101 Dalmatians (or sequel to existing remake).
429. Have fur coat made. Kill two extra Dalmations for matching clogs.

Needless to say, men who hand feed alligators are often pure evil, not to mention melodramatic scamps.

I wonder if the airboat captain feels any remorse about having a hand in the alligator's euthanasia.

If they fed him that allegation, it's a crock of baloney.
