Unfortunately, that type of surgery at his age will leave him with some cosmetic side effects:

Both kid and parents seem to be dealing remarkably well - may the force be with all of you.
But the kid hasn't seen any of the SW movies?!? Holy crap parents - give me an address where I can send a BluRay copy of the original trilogy, I will happily foot the bill.

And yet, that kid's 30 seconds of acting is immensely superior than the 2 hours of crap Jake Lloyd gave us. Hell, the kid even looks the part. :P

From what I can remember, it was due to his heart condition that he was selected by VW in the first place.

Volkswagen announced a while ago they wanted to become the biggest car company in the world and they are clearly on the right path. That commercial was on every blog before it even aired. I won't be buying a VW anything. I hear VW and fun thrown around but never VW and reliable. If I'm buying an unreliable car its gonna be an old Alfa Romeo.

Hmmm - every VAG car I've ever had has been extremely reliable and I'm far from easy on a car.

As much as I'd like to have a feel good moment about this...it only brings my attention to the hundreds of thousands of kids starving to death. The surgery to correct his genetic failures would feed many of them, who are more deserving to live from a natural law standpoint. This represents the ultimate of controversies for my reason to consider...I am torn between emphatic tears between the child saved and the tears recognizing the absolute hopeless outlook for otherwise healthy children in other parts of the world who are denied even the faintest gleaning of recognition.

Pretty good, but it's too obvious.

I dunno. It's pretty damn good. There are assholes everywhere who actually have this opinion and would put it that, uh, eloquently.

If it makes you feel better, we have plenty of children dying here in the USA because they can't get adequate health care.

To solve these problems, I suggest we feed the sick and dying children to the hungry children. That way we don't have any more sick kids, and all the starving ones will be full.

I'm not sure it's fair to judge his acting abilities based solely on Episode I. No one in that movie put up a good performance, and when you've got talent like Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman you can't really blame it on the cast. It's either the result of poor directing, or poor writing. And in this case George Lucas did both. Chances are he wasn't a great actor, but he could have been and we'd never know. Great actors can make up for a lot that's lacking in a movie, but you can't polish a turd.

That kid was great. Somehow you could see the surprise on his face even though it was hidden by the Darth Vader mask. Made me laugh my ass off, so yeah, I hope the little guy pulls through and the pain isn't too bad. Good luck, Max!
