EvilRacistNaziFascist: Medic Zero: EvilRacistNaziFascist: The statement on page 5 of the slideshow is interesting: "National socialism can't be elected or begged for. It can only be achieved through the path of revolution." Take away the word "national" and you're left with a remark that anyone on the hard Left -- including those types overrepresented in movements like Occupy Wall Street -- would be proud to stand by.

This is more proof, as if any were needed, that both fascism and communism -- the latter of which frequently calls itself socialism, as in the acronym "USSR" -- are equally inimical to free societies; but in North America we don't have to worry about tiny fringes of neo-Nazis nearly as much as we do about hardcore leftists yearning to make a final end-run around democracy (i.e. because the brainwashed "masses" keep voting for the wrong parties like Republicans, Conservatives, etc.)

It boggles the mind that people actually believe the kind of crap you just spouted.

Another well-thought-out, elaborate, and intricately reasoned rebuttal from the Left. Do you people have anything other than snark and insults to offer? I ask in all sincerity.

I am reminded of a talk show I saw on television perhaps thirty years ago. The host had on three different Neo-Nazis. All were all asked what they would do if each came to power. The first one was a skinhead with a "White Power" t-shirt, He said he would send the Jews to Israel and the blacks to Africa. The second, some lunatic wearing what he must have imagined was a homemade stormtrooper uniform, said he would kill the blacks and nuke Israel. The third one was an older man in a charcoal-grey, pinstripe three-piece suit, with a tiny Nazi Party pin on one lapel. He said the first thing he would do would be to kill the other two idiots, because they were an embarrassment to National Socialism.
The host said later that the third man scared him...
Personally, I would expect that any serious revival of National Socialism would include exterminating these criminal imbeciles. The only way for them to maintain order would be to eliminate the crazies in their own ranks.

Paris1127: Nazi crimes happen in parts of Germany other than Saxony, like this nationwide spree. It may have something to do with having been oppressed for all those years by the East Germans; the Wall was called something like the "Fascist Protection Barrier."

Funny story, In the summer of 1989 I was visiting my family in Belfast, including my granny who was a genuine old- school Communist and she and I got into a huge row about the Berlin Wall (still standing at that time, of course); when I asked her why, if the Communist system was superior, they needed to imprison their citizens she furiously replied that the Wall was there to keep the capitalist Westerners out! When I made fun of her for saying such a ridiculous thing she actually physically attacked me, tho' not in a way to do much damage of course -- I was 18 at the time and she was 60ish. She was a crazy old b*tch (tho' God rest her soul for all that), but it has to be said that her response to losing an argument wasn't very much different from that of the more Leftish contributors on Fark.

fusillade762: EvilRacistNaziFascist: because the brainwashed "masses" keep voting for the wrong parties like Republicans, Conservatives, etc

How do you explain people who aren't rich voting for a party that only wants to make rich people richer?

Because things are more complicated than dreamed of in your simplistic analysis. You could just as easily ask of Democratic voters, "how do you explain people who are white voting for a party that routinely awards spoils to favoured minority groups?" See how easy it is to create stereotypes?

My own opinion (as a foreigner) of the Republicans BTW is that they are only marginally less destructive to the economy and society of the US than the Democrats are, but then again I am making this criticism from the perspective of what the mainstream media in its wisdom is pleased to call "the far right". I happen to believe that the US under its current political system is f*cked no matter who wins its elections, because both parties are in favour of spending inconceivably vast amounts of money they cannot possibly repay, while at the same time encouraging (to varying degrees) a multiplicity of mutually- incompatible special interest groups to seek their own advantage at the expense of the country as a whole. On the day when there will finally be no more money to pay off the special interests, the US will collapse under its own weight; but after that it will hopefully be able to rise again as a great country on the strength of its hard work and resources. Let's hope that the collapse and subsequent renewal happen soon.

What's that saying? "In America, 100 years is a long time; in Europe, 100 miles is a long distance".

Anyhow, this article is not surprising. The reason the neo-Nazis are rampant in eastern Germany is basically because the Soviets/East Germans told the people that Nazism wasn't their fault - as good socialists/communists, they were as victimized as any other group under the Nazis. In West Germany, the population was made to feel the shame of the Nazis, raised with the guilt of knowing what they and their ancestors did.
