This one is the most disturbing of the bunch.

Mom: Did you know your father was a bird?
Son: My father was a bird? You mean, you had sex with a feathered friend?
Mom: Aparrotly

I was surprised by the "BLAHAH!" sound that escaped my lips when I got to the 3rd line. The puns on Fark today have been top-notch. Nice one!

styckx: Hmm, the 80s. I only got semi influenced by that decade.. My `coming of age' years was a crossover from the late 80s into the 90s. Early 90s wasn't much better though. I kind of lost track of what stupid fad fell into what decade.. I just remember Skidz, IOU and BUM Equipment, Rat tails, Z-Cavarici, Hypercolors, pump up Reboks, Slap braclets, girls who traded one of their chuck taylors for their best friends and wore them mix-match, Jams Shorts..

We are definitely from not only the same era, but most likely the Northeast as well. Amirit?
First girl I felt up was wearing a Hypercolor shirt which made it even more entertaining than it already was!

gaspode: Marisyana: What I find scary is the number of women at my job who still have the high-teased bangs. You know they've been wearing their hair like that since 1987. Not attractive on women in their forties.

I bet they hog all the cake Subway sandwiches when its someone's birthday too

Pick: In 10-20 years pictures taken today, will be looked at and scorned, as these are today, when mullets, faded bell bottom jeans, sparkly clothes are back in style.

You do realize one of the few things that help parents make it through teenagers is knowing in 10-20 years when they look back, they will be horrified.

I need to get some of my 5th grade breakdancer pictures scanned.

As far as bad hairdos go, anyone that sports one of those faux hawks nowadays can't make fun.

It's most effective to unleash the photos when the grandkids are teenagers. Something about revenge and the proper serving temperature.

I'm amazed that so many of you seem to have pictures of yourselves from 25 years ago or longer just at the ready to post here on Fark.

Let the mocking commence.

An A-Ha cassette? Loser!

The A-Ha cassette is not nearly as damning as the Phil Collins CD.

/child of the 80s

I'd say the biggest sin is what appears to be The Pet Shop Boys tape, right beside Phil. Or it could be Bros. ...

I think it's probably Hall and Oates.

Yes, I had shiatty taste in music as a teenager.

And moon boots. I still have an old pair from the 80s that I wear when it snows.

I scanned a bunch of stuff when I first got on Facebook to share with folks from HS that I hadn't seen in a while.

Ugh... reminds me of the time I tried to insert myself into the Clockwork Orange universe (1981). No chicks in the gang, chain belt notwithstanding.

Was there something wrong with an orange velour pantsuit?

Yes... it's no fun playing a rape-ee. And my tits weren't that big, either.

Natural curls FTW.

Thanks Herb!

Harry in 1980. That 'druggie haircut' was the bane of the Command Sergeant Major. The pencil in the ear? No reg against it.

Got to wear civvies when we went downtown to assemble the newspaper for the command.

All the stuff on the walls were funny captions that I wrote for photos we received the Army Public Affairs. Evil 'grip 'n grins', PX Exchange openings and evergreens. See? I was farking even before there was a Fark.

Another DINFOS Trained Killer? Loves it! I was Army Public Affairs from '83-'96, and my cubicle at Fort Gordon had that same "Fark Prototype" look to it. Heck, we probably published each others work in our command newspapers. Not gonna post a photo of me in a similar pose, though. In the early 80s, I was rocking a permed mini-mullet and windshield eyegoggles.

/Wish I still had that tank of a desk, though.

We're through being cool
We're through being cool
Eliminate the ninnies and the twits
Going to bang some heads
Going to beat some butts
Time to show those evil spuds what's what
If you live in a small town
You might meet a dozen or two
Young alien types who step out
And dare to declare
Spank the pank who try to drive you nuts
Time to clean some house
Be a man or a mouse
Waste those who make it tough to get around
If you live in a big place
Many factions underground
Chase down mister hinky dink
So no trace can be found
Put the tape on erase
Rearrange a face
We always liked Picasso anyway
Mash 'em
