Pardon me for doubting you, ma'am. But I don't think you love your son. If you did, you would want him to have equal protection under the law. I don't think you love your son at all.

I know there's an awful lot of competition for Mother Of The Year®, but for a mother to actively work to suppress the rights of her own flesh and blood is so unbelievably crass, I feel she has taken a nearly insurmountable lead.

I mean, even Dick farking CHENEY has shown more support for his lesbian daughter. Think about that... this woman is worse than DICK CHENEY. And he shot a farkin' guy in the face just for lookin' at him wrong! In fact, allow me to propose the new campaign slogan for whomever might run against her:

Marsha Looper: Worse than Dick Farking Cheney.

There are many ministries who are standing up for marriage equality. It isn't rare, it is often under-reported, which is sad.

To be fair, not all Christians are hating on the gheys...

There are a good number of Christian ministries who support marriage equality. Good friend of mine is nearly through the seminary to become a UU minister, and they welcome her and her wife very much. The loud and proudly spiteful, they do get a lot of press, and the press likes to ignore a lot of churches who openly support marriage equality, because it doesn't drive page views like hate, but there are many churches who reject the spite.

There's a pretty big disconnect going on here. On the one hand, she thinks the rights of gay people are acceptable things to campaign on, to publicly discuss, to deliberate on, and to vote on. On the other, she thinks her son's privacy should be respected.

Well, dumbass, if you think your son's private life should be respected, stop publicly discussing and campaigning on whether or not gay people like your son can have a private life that includes marriage!

Re: RE: Homophobes

I verbally expressed warning to my followers that there are those that would come in my name. They are soothsayers and false prophets. I noticed that someone highlighted my words in red and excusing the fact that so much of my life and philosophy are missing and incomplete still does not mitigate the ultimate message to do for the least of my brethren. Dad, I mean I, in deity form watches you all as he, uh I, does the smallest sparrow, and I am saddened by the lack of humanity from so many. You are meant to spend your talents to make the household stronger. Blessed are you all whom are loved perfectly in imperfection. Welcome your lost brother and rejoice. I am the light and way, meant to be followed toward Paradise.

Namaste!

Your lord and savior,
Joshua "Jesus" Alphanomega

Dictated, but not read.

JA/sp

Alas, they have eyes, yet they do not see. They have ears, yet they do not hear. But they do have a mouth, and from it spills the most vile and hatefull crap in your name.

Tell 'em to stop highlighting the parts they agree with and ignoring the parts that they don't. You gotta dumb it down for them though. Maybe a few lightning strikes, or a river of blood or two along with an explicit message, just to get their attention?

Your frustration is understandable. Floods and pestilence don't get the ratings anymore. For some reason, they keep seeing my image in cheese and mold. To clarify, it's not what you eat, smoke, or drink that makes you unholy, it's the awful things you say and the awful ways you act.

For my sake, treat each other better. Feed a hungry man, educate him, and allow him to be productive for others. And stop praying to statues and paintings. That was like Commandment 2.

Praise Jeebus, for he loves the sinner but hates the sin. You know, the "sin" that's such an obvious perverted choice made by foolish people who WANT to be ostracized and treated like second class citizens by the government, churches, and even their own families. Why do they CHOOSE to be gay? Why do some CHOOSE to have blue eyes? Or be short? (Hey, these make about as much sense as "dem pervert gehz")

If you choose your bible over your family and friends, read more of the former, you've proven you don't deserve the latter.

Oh yes, kind of like the relatives who I saw at my brother's wedding for the first time since coming out and who were oh so nice to me but who I know continue to back all sorts of anti-gay groups. I know exactly what they think about gay people and how we're so dangerous that children should be kept from learning about our existence and we should be written out of history books, they made their views quite clear all of the times they flamed me on Facebook over stuff I posted before I came out, but for the sake of family harmony I've got to smile and nod. If it wouldn't upset my mom, I'd like to tell them that they might as well stop being nice to my face and when we all know what they really think.

Reposted, for relevance:

Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of marriages like Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Leviticus 19:10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

Which seems to point to Yahweh being down with welfare and assisting folks in need.

Leviticus 19:14 Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.

Yahweh seems to be down with helping the handicapped too.

Leviticus 19:16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I am the LORD.

So, apparently, lying and telling tales is not approved of, and that communities should stand together. Not just the pale people or the brown people, but all y'all's people...

Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

Guess wishing death and terribleness on your neighbors is out too. How many Democrats or Libertarians or Scientologist you think live in your neighborhoods?

Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Gee. Love thy neighbor. Nor on the children of your people. Whuddathunkit? Not just hippy-dippy Jesus who put that one forward. Right there in Leviticus. The same book that doesn't like shrimp boils and poly-blends...

And, of course, there is something about immigrants that is completely ignored by the rabid Christian nationalists...

Leviticus 19:33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.

Leviticus 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Does that mean we can end this ridiculousness about trying to repeal the 14th Amendment, since Leviticus was down with that sort of thing LONG before the Founding Fathers or Lincoln?

Or if we have to throw out Leviticus as being outdated, does this mean we can toss out the whole hating the gheys thing too?

You can almost hear the gears grinding and popping in the audience...

There is no good, empirical reason not to support gay marriage. It's beneficial to the gay community, and no group is harmed by allowing it. If your against it, all you are trying to do is force your religion on other people, and that's wrong.

Do you honestly think this guy thought to himself "Well, my sexual orientation is a totally arbitrary choice, but you know what? I'm going to choose to be gay and be hated by my family and community, and live as a second-class citizen. That's my choice."?

It's funny how the folks who believe it's a choice can never tell you when they chose to be "straight"...

You all are just being mean. She loves her son, but only when he doesn't rub his sexuality in her face by being in a long term committed relationship.

She prefers that he keep his sinful sexual activity brief, anonymous, and hopefully without repeat partners. She's kind of meh on his safety during these encounters too, but she's much too polite to talk about that outside of private fundraising events.

And don't get me started on how she feels about the possibility of her son wanting to adopt children! Lordy, she'd see him in the ground first!
