China has a serious woman shortage. The number I heard recently was an estimated 200 million women missing from east/southeast Asia in general. And they recognize it, and they want more women. The government has laws about everything relating to this, even how sonograms are used - they're kept under 2 locks in a hopes of creating group accountability. Everyone wants more women in general, just not in specific, not specifically theirs.

They're not trying to get rid of adult women and it's not funny to imply that they are - it just shows a profound failure to understand the issues.
